2005 Infiniti G35

The contact owns a 2005 Infiniti G35. The contact stated that the seat failed to recline. The service engine light was illuminated. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 10V175000 (Air Bags, Seats). The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the cause was a faulty fuse. The fuse was replaced, but the failure recurred. The contact called the local dealer, who confirmed the recall repair was previously completed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact called another local dealer, Douglas Infiniti (430 Morris Ave, Summit, NJ 07901), but there was no response. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 190,000.

The fuel gauge is not reading correctly, and I have to rely on knowing my mileage and how much I last filled in my tank. I have to keep the car running longer than necessary to even duplicate the problem, and when I do the gas gauge just suddenly starts dropping. And if for some reason I even let my gas get low enough to have the low fuel lamp come on, it's almost too late and I barely make it to a gas station. I have not had the issue reproduced/confirmed by any independent servicer. I have seen in many G35 forums that this is an issue that has not had a recall yet. All of the other models for Nissan/Infiniti 2005 were recalled for the fuel sensor in 2010, but not the G35/G37 model. If this keeps happening I will eventually be involved in an accident when my gas runs out unexpectedly on the highway.

The check engine and slip warning lights were illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The contact researched the matter and stated the failure was due to a possible camshaft failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

WE RECEIVED THE CAR APRIL 18, 2020. WE WERE TOLD THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR BESIDES THE GAS GAUGE ON THE DASH. ON APRIL 20,2020, WE WERE ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR STOPPED. WE TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR A BIT AND THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTED. THE ENGINE WILL REV BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T GO FORWARD NOR REVERSE. WE LET THE CAR REST FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES AND IT STARTED TO WORK. WE THEN TOOK THE CAR TO THE MECHANIC THE NEXT DAY AND HE TOLD US THAT THE TRANSMISSION WASN'T NO GOOD AND THAT'S THERE WAS AN EXHAUST LEAK.

I BOUGHT THE CAR GO5 'LL FLUIDS REFILLED DID REGULAR OIL CHANGES WAL-MART IN PINE CITY, MN WITHIN TWO MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT IT TJE CHEK ENGIINE LIGHT CAME ON SO I WENT TO AN O'REILLYS IN SIREN WISCONSIN CODES BACK FOR CAMSHAFT SENSOR. I WAS PLANNING ON BUYING TWO SENSORS TO BE REPLACED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT STAY ON ALL THE TIME. AFTER MY LAST OIL CHANGE AT WALMART IN NOV. I WAS ON MY WAY HOME A LOUD TAPPING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE I HAVE NOT AFTER THIS LOUD NOISE OCCURRED I HAVE NOT DROVE IT FAR IT'S BEEN PARKED SINCE I DID LOOSE THE KEYS AND FOB SO I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO LOOK INTO THOS MORE I'M CURIOUS OF WHAT IS CAUSING THIS NOISE

I BOUGHT A 2005 INFINITI G35 LAST YEAR AND DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE OIL CONSUMPTION DEFECT THAT THE G35 HAS. I RECENTLY DEVELOPED A KNOCKING SOUND IN THE ENGINE AND WHEN I CHECKED THE OIL I NOTICED THE ENGINE WAS LOW ON OIL. I FILLED THE CAR UP WITH THE 2 QUARTS OF OIL THAT WAS MISSING. I CHECKED THE ENGINE, ENGINE BAY AND ALSO UNDER THE CAR TO SEE IF THERE WAS AN OIL LEAK PRESENT BUT THERE WASN'T ANY. A FRIEND OF MINE TOLD ME ABOUT THE OIL CONSUMPTION THAT THE CAR IS KNOWN TO HAVE AND TO MY SURPRISE MY CAR WAS CONSUMING A QUART OF OIL EVER 500 MILES

I OWN A 2005 G35 COUPE AND STARTED NOTICING THAT THE MOTOR IS BURNING A LOT OF OIL. I RESEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND OUT THAT MY YEAR OF CAR HAS PROBLEMS WITH OIL CONSUMPTION. SO I CALLED MY LOCAL INFINITY AND THEY SAID THAT THEY CAN PERFORM THE TEST BUT IF I WANT TO FIX IT, ILL HAVE TO PAY OUT OF MY POCKET. IS THAT RIGHT? ARE THEY SUPPOSE TO FIX IT? IS IT REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY OR RECALL?

ENGINE SHUTOFF WITHOUT WARNING. SERVICE ENGINE SOON, SLIP, AND VDC OFF INDICATORS ALL IMMEDIATELY ILLUMINATED. PROBLEM OCCURRED 3 TIMES WITHIN A ONE HOUR PERIOD. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND RESTART THE CAR EACH TIME. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION, ESPECIALLY IF IT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED WHILE ON AN EXPRESSWAY. PROBLEM SEEMS SIMILAR TO RECALL 03V455000, BUT MY VIN IS NOT LISTED.
