2008 Infiniti G35

The contact owns a 2008 Infiniti G35. The contact stated there was a blinking alert for passenger air bag on the instrument panel and the centerpiece console. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and it was confirmed the air bag sensor failed. The vehicle was not repaired due to cost and the VIN was not associated with the initial 2008 Infiniti recall. Runaway acceleration. Three times now in the last two weeks the RPMs went to maximum redline without my foot on the accelerator pedal. Fortunately all occurred when I was at very slow speed and either in a driveway or a parking lot. Each time I immediately put the transmission to neutral and shut off the engine. For the first occurrence, Restarting the engine all went back to normal. But for the second instance, two weeks later on restart the engine again instantly went to maximum RPM (deep redline). On a second restart, with additional delay before attempting a restart, the problem cleared. I took the car to a mechanic and they said no error diagnostics were recorded. On test drive he said he noticed some brief unexpected surges. He said for liability reasons no way he would work on the car. No warnings, no instrument indications, car does not seem to "know" throttle is at max redline.
