2018 Ford Edge

I am filing a formal complaint for a Safety issue regarding Brakes. When turning, the "Brake Fluid Low" light would flash on for 2 seconds. It did not stay on. Brake pedal seemed normal. When inspected, there was no fluid in the Master Cylinder. No leak was detected. Fluid was in the Brake Booster. They indicated both would need to be replaced. There are 28,000 miles on the 2018 Ford Edge. My Safety and passengers was put at risk because there was no fluid and brakes could fail at any time. The Low fluid light did not stay on. This problem was confirmed at an independent service center. I am taking the vehicle to the Ford Dealer Service Department on 8.26.26 Only when turning a corner did a light come on Low Brake Fluid for 2 seconds. It is not on otherwise. I have had the oil changed and vehicle inspected and used Ford Service at the dealer "The Works" package where supposedly the brakes fluid and breaks were inspected at appropriate intervals and this was last done on 3.11.26 and it was rated as "good" by the Dealership. Based on the fact the Master Cylinder should be good for around 90,000 miles it seems defective and a safety issue. We have 28,000 miles, garage kept, well maintained vehicle Ford has issued massive safety recalls for exactly this issue on 2015–2018 Ford Edge vehicles (specifically Recall 20V-332 / Ford Campaign 20S31) However our vehicle does not fall within the date range. Our vehicle was made of 3/2018. I have called Lasco Ford Dealership and Ford Customer Service. This is our only vehicle and now we cannot drive it.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving 30-35 MPH with her children inside the vehicle and making a turn, while attempting to stop on a hill, the brakes suddenly became inoperable, but the contact was able to avoid a crash. The brake fluid was low prior to the failure. Additionally, fluid was added, but the failure persisted, and the contact’s husband added more brake fluid to the reservoir. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a tire center, which determined that all four brake hoses had ruptured, and there was an associated recall, NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V469000 (Service Brakes, Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the VIN was not included. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided an address to send all concerns, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

On April 15, 2026, I brought my 2018 Ford Edge SEL to an authorized Ford dealership with a loud rattling noise at startup and an illuminated check engine light. Ford Motor Company had previously sent me two written notices (September 2022 and June 2023) identifying a known cracked flexplate defect on my vehicle under Customer Satisfaction Program 22N12, describing these exact symptoms. The defect was never repaired at any of my 16 service visits. Additionally, on September 2, 2025 — just 8 days after Safety Recall 25S87 for the rear brake flexible hose was issued — the dealership presented that recall repair to me as a $532 optional paid service without disclosing it was a free safety recall I was entitled to by federal law. Safety Recall 25S89 for the rear-view camera also remains unperformed. The vehicle is currently undriveable.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at 20 MPH in a parking lot, the brakes became inoperable. The low brake fluid warning light illuminated after the failure. The driver was able to drive safely to her residence. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number 25V544000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The contact called the local dealer, who confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the front driver-side and passenger-side brake hoses needed to be replaced. The mechanic replaced the parts. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not included in a recall. The approximate failure mileage was 145,000.

Now have had my battery replaced twice for some weird reason my car keeps dying when nothing appears to to have been left on inside the vehicle. My Ford edge titanium 2018 has the settings that shit down the wngine with a 30 second shut down and same with anything left in it shuts it off. So why is my car constantly dying with a new battery is my vehicle pat if the 80 something Ford edges that has connection issues with the alternator etc. please help with already two recalls that my vehicle has but can’t be replaced due to parts not ready for repairs by ford. Help!!!

NHTSA needs to recall the engines on these vehicle check engine light came on had checked was told spark plug #4 misfire vehicle is overheating and taking all coolant, white smoke coming out the exhuast, when I brake my emergency brakes are being applied??? I see that there are other people who are having same issues NHTSA and FORD need to RECALL THE ENGINES!! Vehicle has 90,0000 miles on it and failed wont turn over replace the engines on these vehicles you guys are so wrong for not considering this a recall after reading other peoples concerns my 2018 ford edge is doing the same thing and still owe on this piece of crap!!!!

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V469000 (Service Brakes, Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
