Only have about 13600 miles on my 2018 Edge and the battery drains down about .5 v overnight. Could not start in in my garage after 4 days of sitting, charged it up and took it to the Ford dealer where they did a load test on the battery, it tested at 89%. I did a load test with a multimeter with the same results. Dealer told me to keep a trickle charger on it because I didn't drive it enough which was a poor answer. There is a NHTSA #18V54800 out there and a Ford recall #18S25 that does not include my SUV but it could have the same problem. Looking on line there are others with the same issues with the battery going dead just by sitting and in most cases changing out batteries was not the cure and it seemed Ford offered no resolve. If this is a problem caused by a loose connection or a short it could indeed become a bigger safety issue. My vehicle was built at the same plant as stated on the Ford recall # and it should be considered a safety issue for all Edges of the model year of 2018 made a that plant. I'm not sure this is my problem but I need to start somewhere noting that it's happened to others besides me. Thank you for any help in this matter

The power liftgate has stopped functioning. After changing the alternator because of a voltage regulator error code and replacing the batteries, the power liftgate continues to not work. If the battery is disconnected, when reconnected the power liftgate will work only once. When trying to engage the feature, the liftgate will attempt to unlatch and lift however, the hatch does not open. Fuses have also been changed. the power liftgate feature has to be disabled in order to properly use the hatch. No one has been able to find a correction for this issue with not only the Edge's but its sister model by Lincoln. Many complaints of the liftgate opening and closing on its own. The liftgate not operating properly removes an access point of not only convenience but more importantly safety. If there were an accident, the liftgate not opening properly would not allow for passengers to remove themselves from the vehicle if that were the only exit point in a crash. Outside of the listed inspected components, the only other option is to have the entire electrical system inspected. At the price point this vehicle is offered on the market, many owners would not have the means to pay the dealership or a private repair shop to take apart their entire vehicle.

The rear hatch, yes it's available for inspection. It closed on me while trying to get items out of the back of the SUV. I opened the hatch from the drivers control panel leaving the car running in park, then tried to get items out of the back. While I was under the hatch it closed on me. I was unable to stop it from coming down on my back/shoulder despite pushing back against it with my arms against the floor. I ultimately had to jump into the back of the vehicle where the hatch closed on my foot and locked. I tried to open it again using the push button on the outside of the hatch, it closed again, I was unable to stop it from closing and locking again while trying to lift it from the outside. It did this four times in a row. The only "unusual" thing was that this was during an ice storm. I have tried to reproduce it several times since with no luck, also there are no freezing temperatures now. No, I have not taken it to a dealership yet but will this week. I do not know if there were warning lights since I was in the back of the vehicle, but it did sound the tone that you hear when the lid is closing by its own power luckily which alerted me that it was closing. This has never happened, it closed with force four times, and I was unable to stop it

AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ON IN THE CAR. SEAT BELT LIGHT FOR DRIVER'S SEAT DOESN'T ALWAYS TURN ON NOR DOES IT ALARM EVEN WHEN THE SEAT BELT IN BUCKLED OR UNBUCKLED OR IF THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED OR IN MOTION. TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE, INITIALLY WAS TOLD THERE MAY HAVE BEEN RODENT DAMAGE AND THAT WOULDN'T BE COVERED BY WARRANTY BUT THEY WOULD CHECK IT OUT. WHEN I RETURNED, I WAS TOLD EMPTY WATER BOTTLES UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT MAY HAVE MOVED A WIRE. SERVICE PEOPLE STATED THAT THE WIRE MAY STILL BE DISLODGED, THEY DIDN'T CHECK THAT. DEALERSHIP (SHEEHY FORD IN GAITHERSBURG, MD) STATED THAT IT WAS MOST LIKELY DUE TO WATER BOTTLES, THEREFORE THEY DIDN'T CHECK TO SEE IF THE WIRE WAS FULLY CONNECTED OR NOT. I FEEL MY CLAIM WAS DISMISSED BY THE SERVICE CENTER AND IT SEEMS LIKE A SAFETY CONCERN. I AM NOT CONFIDENT THE ISSUE HAS BEEN FIXED. 4 EMPTY WATER BOTTLES THAT SLIDE EASILY UNDER THE SEAT SHOULD NOT DISLODGE A WIRE. ADDITIONALLY, THE DEALER VOIDED THE TICKET AND DIDN'T SUBMIT MY CLAIM TO WARRANTY. I AM STILL CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE SHOULD I BE INVOLVED IN A CRASH. THEY DID NOT ADDRESS MY SEAT BELT CONCERNS FOR THE DRIVER'S SEAT.
