2023 Toyota Tundra

- For the brakes, one month after the purchase date (November 2022), the brakes make a loud screech and to this date (17 May 2024), they still screech. I have took it into the dealer to report it and they still don't have a remedy. - My engine had something internally brake on Easter Sunday 2024. When I first took it to the dealer on Monday, it took a day or two and they found nothing wrong. I picked it up and noticed a loud tapping noise coming from the engine, I took it back to the dealer, the technician opened up the motor and found metal shavings all over the inside of the motor. I had it replaced within a month and a half later, wow, brand new and this is what happened.

It has come to my attention, and I have personally experienced, that the rear tailgate of the Toyota Tundra can unexpectedly open while the vehicle is in drive mode if the key fob is accidentally pressed. This poses a significant safety risk to not only the driver but also to any passengers and other drivers on the road. The unintended opening of the tailgate can lead to cargo falling out onto the road, causing accidents and potentially endangering lives. I believe that this issue warrants immediate attention and investigation by the National Transportation Safety Authority (NTSA). It is imperative that Toyota addresses this issue promptly to prevent any potential accidents or injuries. I urge the NTSA to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter and work with Toyota to implement a solution that ensures the rear tailgate remains securely closed while the vehicle is in motion. Additionally, I recommend that Toyota issues a safety recall to rectify this potentially hazardous defect. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust that the NTSA will take appropriate action to address this safety concern and ensure the safety of all road users.

Excessive wear on Tires at the edge due to vehicle not holding alignment. Contacted tire manufacturer with pictures and they have confirmed its a vehicle alignment issue. Vehicle has been aligned at Toyota dealership always, but still it is consuming tires and outer edges are now below dangerous levels. Toyota is offering no remedy

I was traveling on a hwy with the highest posted speed limit in the U.S. Without any warning the entire engine stopped. Made it to shoulder and the info screen went haywire. Tried six separate times to restart vehicle. Restarted and made it to destination without further incident. The outcome of sudden engine loss could’ve been fatal to myself and other drivers that were near me at the time. Took vehicle to dealer and was told no codes were found at all.

I was traveling south on [XXX] in Sarasota, FL, around 70-75 miles per hour and the engine shut down with warning. I coasted to a stop and was able to pull in the left emergency lane out of traffic. This could have been a tragic situation because cars were traveling 70 plus mph in that area. I tried to restart the car but all I got was a clicking sound from the starter, I also smelled a faint burning smell form the engine compartment. I had to have the vehicle towed into a local Toyota dealership and was advised several days later that the engine would have to be replaced as metal shavings were found inside of it. My brakes have been squeaking since I purchased this brand new vehicle. It wasn’t too bad in the beginning, It was safe to assume, being new truck that I needed to drive it more or so I was told, by a friend. Then, after the first oil change, I started to realize that either my brakes were going bad, and/or it just didn’t feel too safe, especially driving through rainy conditions. So by the time my next few oil change with dealerships, I complained and wanted brakes checked. I was never told they are fine other than they were inspected on paperwork, so that was reassuring until, it started up again. Fast forward to recalls being done and again, I complained about brakes, and a Toyota consultant told me that was a common complaint and all he could do was clean up build up or dirt, and possibly may do the trick. Which was nice, and it helped for maybe a day or two and then started back up! I have no choice other than to trade it, although aside from that brake issue, I want to keep this truck! I feel this issue is dangerous and why hasn’t there been some type of solution from Toyota? Is it going to take for drivers and family to be killed in accidents for something to be done? This is aside from being annoying and embarrassing when pulling up in a brand new truck and these brakes squeezing so loudly - and also, and most importantly the safety of my family and self while in this truck! I love the truck and every other vehicle I have bought through Toyota, but this safety issue has forced me after no answers from Toyota to write this complaint in hopes something can be done soon.
