I get random lags in thorttle engagement when starting from complete or rolling stops. When this happens, it behaves like there is a delay between the throttle input and the engine resoponse. Push the throttle to go, and no go, and after a delay of usually part of a second, then it jerks and goes. Most times there is no problem and the throttle responds correctly, but this issue occurs randomly almost every time I drive.

Extreme throttle hesitation, and lag at low speeds. Causes a safety risk when in traffic or starting to stop situations due to the delay between when the driver presses the throttle pedal and when the vehicle moves. Often times the vehicle lunges aggressively. It happens every time you drive it.

The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V657000 (Back Over Prevention), 25V322000 (Exterior Lighting), and 25V767000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, parts to do the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The contact stated that while driving 55 MPH in stop-and-go traffic, the engine failed to operate as needed, and the contact was able to coast into a nearby parking lot, where the vehicle became immobile. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed and not received a report from the dealer. A case was opened with the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 34,736.

The vehicle gradually reached 45 MPH, and then the check engine and several other unknown warning lights illuminated before the vehicle started losing motive power. The vehicle was unable to exceed 35 MPH. The vehicle was driven to a local dealer, and the dealer determined at first that the failure was related to the transmission, but later informed the contact that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V767000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact was informed that the remedy was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000.

The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 MPH, the instrument cluster went black, and the vehicle started losing motive power. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled but almost immediately restarted. The contact was able to keep driving, but the vehicle failed to respond while depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer for service, and the vehicle was diagnosed and it was determined that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V767000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact was informed that the part was not yet available for the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was made aware of the recall from the dealer and had not received a recall letter. Additionally, the contact stated that whenever the vehicle was shifted into reverse(R), the vehicle hesitated before jolting into gear. The vehicle had not been diagnosed for the failure. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and offered to provide the contact with a loaner vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.

2023 Toyota Tundra experienced repeated engine stalling and vehicle lock-up while driving on public roads, including in an intersection. During one incident, the driver was thrown forward into the steering wheel. A Toyota dealer attempted repair by replacing the neutral/park safety switch, but the repair failed and the dangerous condition persisted immediately after. The vehicle has been removed from use due to safety concerns. The issue is consistent with known engine stalling concerns affecting certain 2022–2024 Toyota Tundra vehicles. The vehicle is unsafe to operate.

I am writing to report a serious issue with my vehicle’s throttle response. When accelerating from a stop, the vehicle consistently hesitates and feels as though it may stall, leaving me vulnerable in traffic or at intersections. This problem has already resulted in three very close calls, two of which required police involvement. I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle under these conditions. I have attempted to trade out of the vehicle, but the offers I’ve received have been significantly reduced due to the widely known nature of this issue. Please advise on the next steps to address this matter. Safety is my top priority, and I believe this situation requires immediate attention. Thank you for your prompt response.

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Toyota Tundra, Lexus LX, and 2024 Lexus GX vehicles equipped with a V35A engine. Debris from the manufacturing process may contaminate the engine and cause the main bearings to fail, which can result in an engine stall and loss of drive power.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will perform an inspection on the #1 main bearing using vehicle inspection software and drive data, and if necessary, replace the engine. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner letters were mailed August 28, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB14 and 25TA14. Lexus' numbers for this recall are 25LB07 and 25LA07. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 24V381.

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2025 Tundra, Tundra Hybrid, and 2023-2025 Sequoia Hybrid vehicles. A software error may cause the rearview image not to display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the multimedia display software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 19, 2025. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB10 and 25TA10.

Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Reverse light failure may reduce visibility, and not alert pedestrians and other drivers that the vehicle is backing up, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace both reverse light assemblies and repair the wire harnesses as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed May 23, 2026. This is a phased recall. Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Chains that are not welded sufficiently can break and allow the spare tire to detach, increasing the risk of a crash.

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles that may be equipped with a Toyota genuine accessory tonneau cover. The tonneau cover attachment joints may come loose and allow the cover to detach.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A tonneau cover that detaches while driving can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Owners of the subject vehicles will be notified by first class mail to return their vehicles to a Toyota dealer. Dealer will install new hardware (bolts, spacers, washers, nuts, rubber washers and cotter pins) to the existing bracket and tonneau cover. If the tonneau cover has tears or splits at the mounting holes to the extent that new hardware cannot be installed, it will be replaced with a new tonneau cover and hardware.
