TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1984 TOYOTA GRANVILLE MOTOR HOME (NA). WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIBRATE. HE EXAMINED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE LUG NUTS ON BOTH THE REAR DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE TIRES FAILED. THE CONTACT DID NOT NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCES IN THE VEHICLE BEFOREHAND. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 30,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000. UPDATED 09/16/08 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE DRIVER SIDE REAR WHEEL BEARING FAILED. THE SECOND OCCURRENCE, THE WHEEL BOLTS BROKE AT THE WHEEL WITH THE LUG NUTS ATTACHED. THE CONSUMER REPLACED AL 5 WHEEL BOLTS AND LUG NUTS. THE THIRD TIME, THE REAR PASSENGER WHEEL SHREDDED TWO BOLTS WITH THE LUG NUTS STILL ATTACHED. THE CONSUMER DISCOVERED THE MOTORHOME WAS EQUIPPED WITH A 1/2 TON 5 BOLTS REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY INSTEAD OF A 1 TON 6 BOLT REAR AXLE. UPDATED 09/24/08. *JB
