Bought 2022 Dodge Ram 2500 equipped with Firestone LT275/70R18E 125 tires on Dec2023. Truck has 21000 miles, sidewalls on all 4 tires are splitting and have a ring around them in the same exact spot on the sidewalls. Dealer said it appears to be a defect on all tires. Dodge referred me to Firestone, got no where with them. Tires appear the sidewalls could blow out on highway and unsafe. Caught defects before possible premature blowouts on all 4 tires due to premature cracking on sidewalls. No towing or hauling done with truck, never been off pavement either, truck parked under cover from sun etc. Dealer advised tires not worn and had great tread depth. Dodge Ram installed these tires to sell the truck but referred me to Firestone for replacement, still trying to get someone to own up to these defective tires besides me.

Crankshaft position sensor went out at highway speed pulling a 5th wheel. Truck shut down in traffic and all power was lost. The throttle position engine light came on and the truck overheated and completely shut down nearly causing a high speed crash on I/40 east of amarillo. The 5th wheel was 17000 pounds and the truck had 37000 miles on it. The dealer (Lipscomb Dodge Elk City , OK) advised it was the crankshaft position sensor and that it was on the same circuit as numerous other sensors that are vital to keeping the engine running and the truck operating safely. The truck is available for inspection, and now has a loud ticking noise (possibly an injector, lifter, or exhaust leak due to the over heating caused by the faulty sensor.

The truck has not been in any accidents, no visible wear on the seatbelt. We typically use the rear seatbelts for our children but now we cannot ride with 5 passengers safely in the vehicle. We took the truck to a RAM dealership in Hendersonville, NC who told us we would need to pay nearly $600 to repair the belt. With the truck only being a few years old and no collisions or incidents, it seems like a manufacturer defect.

T tow a larch travel trailer with my family an and small pets in this vehicle.i live in the Desert where temperatures reach in the 120s. I can’t have a vehicle that could stop running leave myself and my family in a situation where the truck stops running, to be either hit by another vehicle or on the road side broken down. Engine had a tick, dealer said it was lifters. Dealer replaced lifters after having the truck for three weeks. Noise is back 2022 ram 6.7 with 17000 miles. This issue could cause engine failure at any speed and I use this truck to pull a large travel trailer. I’m concerned the noise is back and putting metal shavings into the engine will cause catastrophic engine failure at some point.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Ram 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis, and 4500, 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles equipped with a Cummins 6.7L Turbo Diesel engine. An electrical short may occur in the heater grid relay with the ignition on or off.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An electrical short in the relay can result in an engine compartment fire with the ignition on or off, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will replace the relay, free of charge. This will be a Phased campaign. Phase 1 will include 2023 model year vehicles. FCA US will notify dealers on or about 3/23/2023 and begin notifying owners on or about 4/5/2023.
