2025 RAM 2500

Driving by myself with no load at 12:15 in the afternoon with outside temperature at 80 degrees. Vehicle started to make a large screeching sound coming from engine bay. I pulled over into a parking lot and shut off engine. Vehicle continued to make screeching sound from engine bay; I opened hood to a billowing smoke that smelled like an electrical fire. Noise and significant smoke continued for several minutes with engine off and ignition in off position.

Our 2025 Ram Rebel stalled on a 55-mph curve on a busy freeway. Fearful, I deliberately drifted the vehicle to the right side of the road looking for an emergency lane. The truck regained momentum and I drove it another 10 miles. Coming to a stop, I heard mechanical griding and felt the truck shudder. I drove it home. My husband took the truck, and the same griding and shuddering happened to him twice over a 15-minute period while driving on surface streets less than 20 mph. The truck did not stall on him. -We have been told by the dealership that the transfer case failed. The dealership is working to fix it. -My safety and those riding in my vehicle were put at significant risk due to the stall on the freeway and a transfer case failure. -The problem was confirmed by an official Ram dealer where we purchased the vehicle. -The transfer case failure has been inspected but the reason for the stalling has not been identified. -A warning light "Service 4WD" turned on each time we heard the grinding sound but then turned off. We bought the vehicle new, have owned it 11 months and it has $15,000 miles. All services have been conducted according to the maintenance schedule.

The contact owns a 2025 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving after the dealer completed the recall repair under NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V059000 (Exterior Lighting, Electrical System); a message asking whether the driver wanted to connect a fifth-wheel or a conventional trailer was displayed on the instrument panel, and a yellow triangle light with two wheels underneath a trailer was displayed. The contact stated that the message and warning light were illuminated while no trailer was connected to the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and assisted the contact in scheduling a service appointment with the dealer. The vehicle was taken to the dealer twice; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 6,500.

Vehicle experiences repeated intermittent engine shutdown while decelerating to a stop (approximately 3-4 mph). condition has occurred 10+ times since purchase ( Feb.2026). Vehicle currently has 5000 miles.Vehicle has been and is currently for the 3rd time at dealership for this safety issue. Dealer has involved STAR engineering. Issue has not been duplicated by shop tech but was captured on video by owner and given to dealership. This creates a safety concern due to unexpected loss of propulsion in traffic conditions

I have a 2025 ram 2500 diesel, and I use it to tow, as I am a farmer, and have a farm. I pull stock trailers, my tractor, and other trailers associated with my farm. I took my truck in for the trailer tow module recall to be done over 4 months ago, and they said they had to order the part and would call once it came in. It has now been over 4 months, I have called the dealer to follow up, and keep getting the same answer. The part hasn't arrived yet, and they will call me when it comes in. Every time I hook up a trailer it disables my trailer brakes, throws the AEB light on, and I am afraid, that in the instance I have to stop abruptly, that I may crash, and or hurt or even Kill someone due to these issues. I'm at a loss, they are worried about doing the trucks on the lot before they take care of the ones on the road per Jeremy at the Crain Ram dealership in Hot Springs, AR, which I don't feel is right to do. They got my money, now I have to deal with the issue, and potentially worse, until they get their unsold trucks done on the lot. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

I attempted to use the factory-equipped 110V power outlet located in the bed/rear area of my truck to power a laptop computer. After plugging in the device, I discovered that the outlet was not supplying any electrical power. The vehicle is equipped with a cargo light/power outlet activation button located beneath the steering wheel. Even with the button engaged and activated as intended, the outlet remained inoperative and provided no power output. Due to concerns regarding a possible electrical system defect, I brought the vehicle to the dealership for diagnosis and repair. After inspection, the dealership advised that a wiring-related issue was found and repaired in order to restore functionality to the outlet system. I am concerned that a wiring defect occurred on a brand-new vehicle and believe this reflects poor workmanship and inadequate quality control during manufacturing. In addition to this issue, my truck has experienced several other mechanical and electrical problems within only a few months of ownership. Because this issue involved the vehicle’s electrical system and required dealer repair shortly after purchase, I am requesting that NHTSA document and review this complaint for potential manufacturing or electrical system defects affecting this vehicle platform.

While operating my truck under normal driving conditions, the check engine warning light suddenly illuminated without warning. Due to concerns about potential vehicle reliability and safety, I immediately brought the vehicle to the dealership for diagnosis and inspection. After evaluating the vehicle, the dealership stated that diagnostic trouble codes were present and that additional analysis of the system would be required. The vehicle remained at the dealership for approximately one week before being returned to me. Upon release of the vehicle, the dealership advised that the issue was related to multiple erroneous codes and that a software update had been performed. However, the dealership did not provide a clear explanation as to why the codes were generated, what systems were affected, or whether the condition could reoccur. I was also not provided with a complete accounting of all diagnostic trouble codes identified during the inspection. I am concerned that the dealership failed to provide full transparency regarding the diagnosis and repairs performed on this vehicle. The repair order documentation was limited in detail and appeared to omit important information regarding the discovered fault codes and the full scope of work completed. Because modern vehicle systems rely heavily on electronic control modules and software for engine operation and safety-related functions, I am requesting that NHTSA document and review this issue for potential underlying electronic or software-related defects that may affect vehicle reliability and safety.
