The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the catalytic converter had failed and needed to be replaced due to a fuel leak. The contact was advised to contact the dealer for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 200,000.
