The front passenger door is unable to be opened from the inside or the outside. The handle from the inside feels like it has no tension, like something snapped inside. Two local mechanics suggested taking to the dealer as this seems like a potential safety issue with no means of egress from the passenger side if needed. Dealer said they have never seen this problem and deem that a fix will be very difficult as they are unable to open the door to remove the interior panel. The only way to access the latch mechanism is to remove the exterior door panel, a major task. Two safety issues- impossible to exit door inside, what if this happens to another door and I am unable to escape my vehicle? Or unable to get my child from inside? And because the mechanism cannot be inspected, is the door safely locked, or will it open while driving? Contacted Chrysler and they are unwilling to cover repair since vehicle is at 39,000 miles and warranty ended at 36,000. Chrysler rep also said never seen this issue before. Should be covered as manufacturing defect and potential major safety issue.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the forward warning collision light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that a system reset was needed following an over the air software update. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance instead advising the the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer. The failure mileage was 41,000.

My Jeep, when using adaptive cruise control, will occasionally apply emergency breaking when a vehicle passes alongside me in an adjacent lane in the same direction of travel. I’ve had other cars directly behind me when this happens and it appears to other drivers like I’m “break checking” them. Usually it’s triggered when the passing adjacent vehicle is a tractor trailer or a truck pulling a trailer. Furthermore, the actual early warning forward crash detection does not work at all. I have no warning lights alerting me of a malfunction.

Vehicle has a knocking noise coming from around the engine. There has been a TSB posted regarding the issue described as, "Customer may describe a low frequency vibration noise heard during engine mount actuation while at idle in gear". This is a frequent issue among dealers around my area that are having to replace vehicles outside of the warrant window. Engine mounts in most vehicles last at least 5-6 years before having to be replaced. This is causing a huge distraction with the noise that is a result.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at various speeds on several occasions, the vehicle leaned to the right and then to the left intermittently. The contact observed an audible warning chime and a message to "Service Air Suspension Soon" was displayed. Additionally, the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it as diagnosed that three software updates needed to be performed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 55 - 70 MPH, there was a message that the driver’s side front headlight sensor had failed. The vehicle was taken to a body shop where the contact was informed that the driver’s and passenger’s side bumper bracket clips had slightly detached and was protruding outwardly at high speeds. The contact was able to push the clips and bumpers inwardly; however, the bumper and the clips failed to remain secured. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 58,900.

While traveling/driving with the ADAS on, the brakes slam on detecting a front end impact. The dash board disappears and the word BRAKE in all red capital lettering with a very loud beeping coming through the speakers happens. The first time it happened was in Oct of 2023 and has happened every time I travel using the ADAS. I have made an appt every time I’ve gotten back to town after traveling to have it looked at. #1 I’ve been told they can’t find a problem with it, #2 It’s been recalibrated 3 times and the service manager even asked for my permission to take my vehicle to his personal home for the weekend so that he could follow the FCA guidelines after it was recalibrated because it had to sit for a time period before it was drove. My Jeep App can show the history of its location. While traveling home the weekend of April 26, 2024 the brakes slammed on 3 times simultaneously causing all traffic behind me to lock up their brakes. Had I gotten hit I would’ve become a human pin ball across 3 lanes of Interstate 80/90. When I pulled off on the side of road so did the vehicle who almost hit me, I was so shook up I was in tears #3 I got told to not use the feature since I knew there was a problem, #4 I asked if there was something they could install to record what’s going on #5 they finally installed an “In flight recording module” the time before I drove home but upon return saying it recorded information but that they don’t know the reason why it’s doing it or how to fix it. I’ve never received a single invoice from the dealership when I’ve taken it in for this EVER!!!! I’ve only been told they have “Star cases” on it and that is enough to prove its a “buy back or lemon”, the last message I received from a Service Rep at the dealership was from Jul 25, 2024 about seeking a buy back. I sent a message today (Aug 25, 2024) asking for a plan or solution to this problem. I’ve heard nothing yet again from anyone!!!!!! I’m beyond frustrated!!!!!!!!!

Engine making thwomping sound on passenger side, only after 30 miles of driving. Must be in gear - D or R. 27k miles Jeep Grand Cherokee L Engine mounts suspected. No inspection yet because it's near impossible to recreate in a 'shop' environment. My dealer requires leaving the car for a week and they drive it for five minutes. That is not enough to get this to happen. We believe it has to do with TSB - 09-015-22 On the Jeep Forums [XXX] ), a LOT of people have this same problem.The issue is, you have to drive the vehicle about 30 miles before it appears. This is consistent with all users on the forum as well. Of course this makes it VERY difficult to pin down and near impossible to get a warranty fix since they cannot recreate it. In the TSB it mentions "If the symptom/condition is present and the mounts are not NIK AG or newer, proceed..." This means they know the old mounts are faulty by admission, yet no recall. Clearly everyone is running into this or will. Poor design, should be a recall on these parts - Engine mount. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE vehicles. The rear coil springs may be incorrectly installed and detach from the vehicle while driving.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Rear coil springs that detach from the vehicle while driving increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the rear coil spring lower isolators, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed September 29, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 89D. A software error may cause the transmission gear selection indicator not to display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 102, "Transmission shift lever sequence, starter interlock, and transmission braking effect."

Consequence: A missing gear selection indicator may lead to unintended vehicle movement or a vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe and 2022-2026 Grand Cherokee 4Xe vehicles. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle fire can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures and not to charge their vehicles until the remedy is completed. Dealers will update the high voltage battery software, and replace the high voltage battery, as necessary, free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 17, 2025. On June 8, 2023, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles US, LLC (FCA) filed Safety Recall 23V-413 affecting certain 2022–2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee and2021–2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L vehicles to address rear coil springs that may not have been properly installed during vehicle production. An improperly installed rear coil spring may detach while the vehicle is in motion, creating a road hazard that can increase the risk of a crash for following motorists and may result in injury to other road users. Since the filing of Recall 23V-413, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has received twenty (20) unique consumer complaints alleging rear coil spring detachments occurring after the recall remedy was performed. These reports raise concerns regarding the effectiveness of the recall remedy and suggest the possibility of additional factors not addressed by the original recall campaign. Accordingly, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) is opening this Recall Query (RQ) to assess the adequacy of FCA’s remedy procedure under Recall 23V-413 and to evaluate the root cause(s) of post-remedy coil spring detachments. On June 8, 2023, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles US, LLC (FCA) filed Safety Recall 23V-413 affecting certain 2022–2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee and2021–2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L vehicles to address rear coil springs that may not have been properly installed during vehicle production. An improperly installed rear coil spring may detach while the vehicle is in motion, creating a road hazard that can increase the risk of a crash for following motorists and may result in injury to other road users. Since the filing of Recall 23V-413, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has received twenty (20) unique consumer complaints alleging rear coil spring detachments occurring after the recall remedy was performed. These reports raise concerns regarding the effectiveness of the recall remedy and suggest the possibility of additional factors not addressed by the original recall campaign. NHTSA received a petition on or about July 18, 2022, requesting that Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the United States. The petition can be reviewed at NHTSA.gov under ODI Number 11486072. FMVSS 141 establishes performance requirements for pedestrian alert sounds for motor vehicles. The standard applies to hybrid and electric vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,536 KG or less or are defined as low-speed vehicles. The standard became fully applicable to all such vehicles manufactured on or after March 1, 2021.On January 27, 2023, NHTSA opened Defect Petition (DP) 22-005 to evaluate the subject matter described in the petition. On June 24, 2023 and as supplemented on June 25, 2023, the petitioner notified NHTSA he was withdrawing his petition. The petitioner indicated that, based on his review of data, there is no justification for asserting potential benefits that could be derived from actions sought by my petition.
