The car was functioning normally, with no anomalies or error messages, including through phone notifications. The battery charge was nearly complete. I engaged Electric-Drive mode and used regenerative braking to recharge the battery on my way to town. Approximately 30 minutes into the drive, and with the battery at 99% charge, I heard a loud pop. It sounded like it was coming from the right-side passenger control arm. Shortly after, my dashboard was illuminated with warning lights, including a check engine light and notifications about air suspension and sway bar disconnection, airbags, tpms sensors, and more. The car decelerated dramatically; The dashboard screen flickered on and off as if rebooting. I got the vehicle safely, but during that time, the car seemed to be in limp mode, unresponsive to acceleration, and stiffer than normal breaking. The steering was also affected. I realized that if I had been on the highway, this could have caused a severe accident. Screen, Powertrain, and drivetrain fail while traveling 45+ miles an hour. It is a small 2-way road in turn with mild car and foot traffic around. The dealer has confirmed the issue as an issue that has been present in past vehicles in this model category. The car had been in my possession for less than 24 hours/40 driven miles.
