Living in western NC, We have extreme amounts of salt due to (3) ski slopes in our area. Yes. 2) unknowing of the recall my husband and I were traveling home from out of town. We made it to our town when the wheel arm broke, causing the vehicle to stop unexpectedly. Had this happened while driving on the interstate like we were, we would not have survived it, and who knows how may others would have been killed or injured. 3) yes, when seeking repairs for the vehicle, we were told that no one would do repairs for the vehicle. It was then we found out about the recall for the other states. 4)No, manufacturer has been contacted. 5) No, there were none that we were aware of, except a crunch sound when making a sharp turn. It was heard the weekend we were out of town, but only a few times.

It seems the recall was ignored. Is it worth repairing?

Scheduled recall to be looked at, however my local dealership called me the day of appointment to tell me they do not have the part for that and would need to order it and then schedule my appointment. So the person ordered it and then I had to call back to see if the part came in yet. Upon looking at my car on a lift, they told me they would have to charge me to fix the car because the lug nut they stripped looking at my vehicle was stripped. I was not willing to pay them so the dealership sent me home. I called back to see how to fix it and they never offered me an answer. It’s been needing the recall for years since and no Honda dealership is able to fix it.

TPMS light comes off and on even though tires are fine. Back of vehicle shakes, and feels unstable especially on highway when speeds are higher. And you can hear a sound clicking that comes from the rear end of the vehicle.

FIVE DAYS AGO, THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND THE WHOLE FAMILY WAS IN IT. ALL OF A SUDDEN, ITS ENGINE SOUNDED LIKE 'JUNK' WHICH NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. WE WERE ALL NERVOUS AND CONFUSED AND WE WERE ABOUT 20 MILES AWAY FROM HOME. OUR SAFETY IN THE CAR WAS UNCERTAIN AND THE ROADS GOING HOME HAD VARYING SPEEDS BETWEEN 30 TO 65 MI/HR. WE KNOW TODAY THAT THE ENGINE HAS SEVERE PROBLEM DUE TO HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION WHICH IS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING.

SAID HONDA CR-V PURCHASED 05/22/14 AT PORT CHARLOTTE HONDA AND WAS TRADED IN ABOUT 2 HOURS PRIOR TO PURCHASE.OUR 2007 LINCOLN TOWN CAR WAS SUPPOSEDLY SOLD PRIOR TO OUR ARRIVAL AT DEALERSHIP. WE WANTED TO DRIVE OUR LINCOLN BACK HOME & LEAVE THE HONDA FOR SAFETY INSPECTION AND DETAILING PER OUR AGREEMENT WITH SALES PERSON (MIKE HOMER) AND FINANCE MANAGER (ERIC DANE). THEY INSISTED WE DRIVE THE HONDA HOME AND RETURN FOR THE SERVICES THE NEXT WEEK AS PROMISED. THE FRONT TIRES WERE VERY BALD BEING THE ORIGINAL TIRES THAT CAME ON IT IN 2011. WE INSISTED THAT AT THE LEAST THE FRONT AND REAR TIRES BE ROTATED SO THE BETTER (NOT EXACTLY TRUE) WERE ON THE FRONT SINCE IT WAS A FRONT WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE. UPON RETURNING FOR SERVICE I TOLD MIKE AND ERIC I WASN'T AT ALL HAPPY WITH THE CONDITION OF THE 2 TIRES ON THE FRONT, IT WAS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE. THEY ASSURED ME THE TIRES MET THE SPECS AND WERE SAFE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THE TIRE SPECS WERE BETWEEN 2/32TH AND 4/32TH. THIS ISN'T A TRUE STATEMENT & I WAS TOLD BY THE GENERAL SALES MANAGER THEY COULDN'T SPEND ANY ADDITIONAL ON THE VEHICLE. BEING THE FIRST HONDA WE HAVE EVER PURCHASED IT WAS A MAJOR DECISION SWITCHING FROM FORD (WHICH WE HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLES OR THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT). ERIC SAID WE WOULD BE REAL HAPPY WITH THE HONDA CR-V WHICH WE ARE EXCEPT FOR THE SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE TIRES. I'VE MADE NUMEROUS CALLS BUT THE DEALERSHIP STILL REFUSES TO REPLACE THE TIRES WITHOUT CHARGING US FOR THEM. I REFUSE TO PAY HUNDREDS FOR DOLLARS FOR TIRES THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER LEFT THE DEALERSHIP. I TOOK THE HONDA TO THE LOCAL BRIDGESTONE DEALERSHIP HERE IN CAPE CORAL FOR EVALUATION AND THE MEASUREMENT WAS 1/32 AND HE SAID HE WOULDN'T DRIVE 2 MILES ON THOSE DANGEROUS TIRES. THE LEFT DRIVER'S TIRE WAS FLAT EVERY MORNING SO WE ARE NOW ON A DONUT TIRE. WE NEEDED THIS ISSUED RESOLVED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. UPDATED 05/7/2015*JS
