7/31/23 Used 2020 Ford Escape was bought at Cecil Atkission Motors, it was deemed "fully functional, no present issues." 08/02/23 Tire issues, dealership inspected and found 2 screws in driver tire/failed alignment test. Also suddenly found oil pan and left axle seal leaking. Seal leaking and replaced. Front axle leaking. 12/08/23 Took Ford Escape to Ford Dealership due to broken popping driver door. Vibration while driving 70mph, inspected and the cause of it is front suspension and uneven tires given by Cecil Atkission Motors. Found oil leak again front cover and oil pan, leak on crank shaft rear main seal. Trans and engine dye found between. Rear seal leaking. Rattle noise at cold start, coming from turbo. Misfire at 2 and 3 cylinders. Blindside spot doesn't detect cars next to car. Due to the driver door being broken and unable to open it poses a safety hazard if car caught on fire or if an accident, unable to escape. Being a 2020-year vehicle, this should not be happening early on. All issues mentioned above are hazardous to my safety and others, including children.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that after driving the vehicle, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition to the transmission problem, I obtained a P0234 and P0299 OBD code. This code is for the turbocharger overboost solenoid, which I had replaced, but the code has returned.

The dashboard and main touch screen would not light up in the middle of driving - this would occur every 5 minutes. "System off to save battery please turn ignition off or start engine" pop up would come on main screen while the entire system was done. Another pop up "auto hold system fault" warning would come up as well. Vehicle has been inspected twice by a ford service center and unable to identify the issue. This issue puts the driver at risk for accidents by not knowing the speed at which he/she is driving, fuel capacity, other information that is available on the dashboard if there are issues when it is completely off.

Consequence: Battery failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. Battery failure can also increase the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Owners are advised not to charge battery till the remedy has been completed. Dealers will perform a battery energy control module (BECM) software update, and replace the high voltage battery pack, as necessary, free of charge. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Ford Escape vehicles manufactured May 19, 2014, to February 6, 2015, and Transit Connect vehicles manufactured May 11, 2014, to July 2, 2015. Due to a software incompatibility issue, the instrument panel cluster be inoperative including a blank multiple functional display (MFD), and non-functional warning chimes, messages and warning lights. Consequence & remedy

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Escape vehicles manufactured October 5, 2011, to April 1, 2013, and equipped with 2.0 liter engines and Focus ST vehicles manufactured February 14, 2012, to October 14, 2013, and equipped with 2.0 liter engines. Insufficient compression in the engine wiring harness splices to the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor may provide incorrect signals to the powertrain control module (PCM).
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: The incorrect signals could cause the vehicle to hesitate or the engine to stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the current crimped splices with new splices, free of charge. The recall began in October 2014. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-800-392-3673. Ford's number for this recall is 14S17.
