SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE CAR,IT GETS RANDOMLY STUCK IN PARK. IT USUALLY IS IN A DRIVEWAY ON A SLIGHT INCLINE. IT TAKES 20 OR 30 MINUTES OF PUSHING THE BRAKE AND STARTING AND RESTARTING TO FINALLY GET IT TO SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED IT WAS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. I WAS ON AN INTERSTATE DRIVING IN THE FAST LANE WHEN I CAME UPON STOPPED TRAFFIC. THERE WAS A BAD ACCIDENT AHEAD AND TRAFFIC WAS NOT MOVING AT ALL. AFTER ABOUT 20 OR 30 MINUTES I TURNED MY CAR OFF AND WAITED FOR TRAFFIC TO START MOVING. WHEN TRAFFIC STARTED MOVING, I TRIED TO PUT MY CAR IN DRIVE AND IT WOULD NOT MOVE. I WAS NOT ON AN INCLINE. I WAS ON LEVEL GROUND. I WAS IN THE FAST LANE AND HERE I SAT UNABLE TO MOVE AT ALL, COULD NOT PULL OF THE ROAD. IRATE DRIVERS AND 18 WHEELERS COMING UP ON ME AT 70 MILE AN HOUR. I WAS SO SCARED, I THOUGHT I'M GOING TO GET KILLED AND SO IS THE DRIVER THAT CRASHES INTO ME. I DID EVERYTHING I KNEW TO DO AND AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES IT FINALLY WENT INTO GEAR. HAD IT NOT, I WAS GOING TO ABANDON THE CAR BECAUSE I KNEW IT WOULD GET CREAMED. MY ONLY CONCERN WAS THE PERSON THAT WOULD HIT THE ABANDONED CAR WOULD BE HURT OR KILLED. WHEN I GOT HOME I CALLED THE GM CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT TO MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALER. I TOOK IT TO THEM AS WELL AS ANOTHER MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD, I WOULD HAVE TO BRING IT IN WHEN IT HAPPENED BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT GET IT TO DO IT AGAIN SO THEY COULDN'T REPAIR IT. WELL DUH, IF I COULD BRING IT IN WHEN IT HAPPENED I WOULDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM. ONE TOLD ME IF IT WAS A STICK SHIFT, HE WOULD KNOW WHAT IT WAS BUT SINCE IT WAS ON THE COLUMN, HE HAD NO IDEA. AFTER SPENDING MONEY AND TIME I STILL HAVE A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE IN MY EYES. *TR

I HAD JUST STARTED MY 2008 CHEVROLET IMPALA LTZ AND WAS LEAVING WHEN THE SERVICE STABILITRAK WARNING CAME ON AND ENGINE POWER WAS REDUCED WARNING CAME ON. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND BEGAN TO JERK AS IT SHIFTED GEARS. UNFORTUNATELY, IT OCCURRED AT A TIME WHEN THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS CLOSED AND ON THE WEEKEND. I'M HOPING TO GET THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED ON MONDAY AS THIS IS MY ONLY MODE OF TRANSPORTATION AND I'M 8 WEEKS FROM GRADUATING FROM COLLEGE!! IT WOULD SUCK IF I HAVE SPEND ALL THIS TIME AND MONEY IN GETTING MY EDUCATION ONLY TO FAIL DUE TO A VEHICLE BREAKDOWN THAT SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THIS VERY MAKE AND MODEL. THIS COULD BE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR ANYONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM WITH THEIR IMPALA. IT SHOULDN'T TAKE A LOSS OF LIFE OR INJURY, FIRE OR CRASH TO MAKE THE MANUFACTURER PLACE A RECALL ON THE FAULTY PART THAT IS CAUSING THIS. *TR

AGAIN, MY MECHANIC CHECKED THE COMPUTER DIAGNOSTIC AND SAID CODE 2127. I TOOK MY CAR TO MY DEALER 5/29/13 AND THEY REPLACED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY. *TR

GEAR SHIFT STUCK IN PARK POSITION. WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO ANY OTHER POSITION. CHEVROLET MECHANIC FOUND ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND MADE FOLLOWING COMMENTS ON THE REPAIR ORDER. FOUND THAT SHIFT LOCK CONTROL SOLENOID INOP. FOUND THAT GREEN WIRE MELTED ABOUT 12 INCHES FROM SHIFTER AND ALSO CONNECTOR FOR SHIFT LOCK CONTROL HAD HIGH RESISTANCE.. REPAIR COMMENTED: REPLACED CONNECTOR AND REPAIRED WIRE WORKING AS DESIGNED AT THIS TIME. MECHANIC STATED THAT THIS WAS NOT UNCOMMON. ALSO FOUND NUMEROUS INTERNET FORUM COMMENTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.. VERY SERIOUS FIRE HAZARD. GM SEEMS TO BE AWARE SINCE ABOVE REPAIR IMPLIES A REWORKING DESIGN OF WIRE WORKING.: EVIDENCE OF BURNED WIRE INSIDE A VEHICLE SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A SERIOUS FIRE HAZARD. *TR

WHILE I WAS STOPPED UNABLE TO MOVE MY VEHICLE, CARS FLEW ME AND I WAS ALMOST HIT. AT ONE POINT ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS ALMOST RAN OFF THE ROAD DUE TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC TRYING TO DODGE ME. THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I HAVE NEVER FEARED FOR MY LIFE LIKE I DID AT THIS TIME. AFTER DOING MY RESEARCH ONLINE, I HAVE FOUND MANY OTHERS HAVE BEEN IN MY SITUATION. I WAS TOLD THAT MY ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENSOR HAS GONE BAD. I FEEL THAT GM SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE AND NEEDS TO REMEDY THE SITUATION BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED. *TR

14V355000 · Electrical System:ignition

Jun 23, 2014

This defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2005-2009 Buick LaCrosse, 2006-2011 Buick Lucerne, 2000-2005 Cadillac DeVille, 2006-2011 Cadillac DTS, 2006-2014 Chevrolet Impala, and 2006-2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the weight on the key ring and road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: If the key is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy if the vehicle is involved in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, a key knocked out of the run position will cause loss of engine power, power steering, and power braking, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will install two key rings and an insert in the key slot or a cover over the key head on all ignition keys, free of charge. The recall began on September 23, 2014. Owners may contact General Motors customer service at 1-800-521-7300 (Buick), 1-800-458-8006 (Cadillac), and 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet). GM's number for this recall is 14299.

12V377000 · Suspension:front:control Arm:lower Arm

Aug 3, 2012

General Motors (GM) is recalling certain model year 2008-2012 Chevrolet Impala police vehicles because the front lower control arms may fracture. This safety recall does not include non-police Chevrolet Impala vehicles.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A broken control arm can result in the loss of control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace both front lower control arms, free of charge. The safety recall began on August 21, 2012. Owners may contact the Chevrolet owner center at 1-866-694-6546.
