WHILE DECLINING A MOUNTAIN WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID ALL OVER THE HIGHWAY. IN ADDITION, BRAKES LOCKED UP, CAUSING VEHICLE TO INCREASE SPEED. HOLDING THE BRAKES WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A STOP. *AK

SEAT BACK OF THE REAR BENCH SEAT MAY BREAK AWAY FROM THE SEAT CUSHION IN AN ACCIDENT.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: SEAT OCCUPANT WOULD BE SUBJECT TO GREATER INJURY; VEHICLEWOULD NOT COMPLY WITH FMVSS 207.

Remedy: INSTALL REINFORCEMENT THAT RUNS FROM SIDE OF SEAT BACK FRAME ASSEMBLY TO SEAT CUSHION FRAME ASSEMBLY, STRENGTHENING THE SEAT BACK.
