2014 Chevrolet Camaro

My 2014 Camaro SS, has about 35k miles on it now, and only drive during the summer. I was looking for a parking spot at work, went to turn right, and the steering wheel totally locked up on me, would not turn left or right from a straight position, ended up slamming on the brakes for i wouldn't run into the embankment in front of me. Put the car in Park, kept playing with the steering wheel, and it finally came free and turned right, after trying to go from left to right a couple of times. So put it back in drive and it performed normally the rest of the day. Sometimes when parking the car, the key will not go fully into the lock position, without starting and shutting the car down a few times, and wiggling the steering wheel in the center position. I See there is a steering related recall on this vehicle but thinking that isn't the problem, but will check it out just in case. But as you can see this could be a very dangerous situation when driving down the highway at 70 MPH. This car was also one that had the key upgrade to it for the issue with the ignition switch, but thinking that isn't an issue. I also used to work for GM in Powertrain, and the switch/sensor area for a while where the one gentleman was fired from, and now retired from GM. So am very familiar with vehicles and thinking it may be the locking mechanism in the steering wheel that is having issues, or the PCM is having glitches? Any help you can provide would be most appreciated.

When I drive my knee turns the key, causing a the car to turn off. This is a safety issue that is concerning I am a mom. Every time my knee hits the part key while the car is on it turns the car off. The heater is an issue I have air but no heat. In order for me to fix the heater I told they would have to remove the entire window, but I would have to sign a waiver, because the window could break. Then they would have to remove the dash and another part in order to fix the heat in the car. This is in my opinion a safety issue I don’t understand how the heater could be fixed without causing the window in the car to possibly break. I was told the chances of the window not breaking in order to fix the heater in the car is nearly impossible. Which means I would have to buy a window and pay for labor in order to fix the heat in the car. 1. I have an ignition issue my knee is turning off the car when I drive. 2. Fixing the heat in the car is nearly impossible. 3. Please help check for recalls

The contact owned a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated while driving at approximately 15 MPH, another vehicle failed to yield and crashed into the front passenger side of the vehicle. The contact stated he depressed the brake pedal however, the vehicle failed to stop, and the steering wheel failed. The air bags deployed seconds after the crash. No warning lights illuminated. The contact sustained an injury to his back and a head concussion. Medical attention was needed. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance. The dealer was not notified. The manufacture was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage of 109,000.

THE AUDIO SOUNDS ARE NOT WORKING INCLUDING NO BLINKER SOUNDS. NO RADIO SOUND. NO RADIO WORKING IN AND OUT AND SCREECHING SOUND WHILE DRIVING DISTRACTING DRIVER , NO SEAT BELT SOUND WARNING , NO KEY LEFT IN IGNITION SOUND WARNING , ALL SAFETY ISSUES AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME THING AND YOU GUYS KEEP IGNORING IT. YOU NEED TO DO A RECALL ! SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED IF IT HASN'T ALREADY HAPPENED. ! ESPECIALLY THE SEAT BELT WARNING AND RADIO SCARING PEOPLE GOING ON AND OFF. !

OUR 2014 CHEVY CAMARO SS POWER STEERING WOULD LOCK UP ON US WHEN WE WERE DRIVING AND WOULD JERK AND WE WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO STEER THE CAR AND IT WAS VERY SCARY ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU WERE GOING THE SPEED LIMIT ON THE INTERSTATE GOING 65-70 MPH. MY HUSBAND WAS COMING HOME FROM COURT ON 9/8/20 AND IT WAS ALSO OUR 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY AND IT LOCKED UP ON HIM AND THE NEXT THING HE KNEW HE WAS HIT BY A LADY AND HE WAS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND OUR CAR WAS TOTALED AND HE DONT EVEN HAVE ANY RECOLITION OF WHAT HAPPENED THE IMPACT OF THE LADY HITTING HIM KNOCKED HIM OUT AND HE IS LUCKY TO BE ALIVE HE SUFFERED A BROKE ARM AND HAD TO HAVE SURGERY TO HAVE A PLATE AND SCREWS PUT IN TO REPAIR IT AND WE DONT HAVE A VEHICLE NOW. WE HAD JUST PURCHASED THE CAR THE END OF MAY 2020. WE SEEN A RECALL ON THE STEERING LOCKING UP AND THE CHEVY DEALER SAID THEY COULDN'T REPLACE IT BECAUSE THE VIN NUMBER WASN'T ON RECALL. HOW CAN A VEHICLE THAT IS DOING THE SAME EXACT THING AS THE SAME EXACT VEHICLE WITH A DIFFERENT LETTER IN THE VIN NOT BE ON RECALL FOR THE SAME EXACT DEFECT? MY HUSBAND IS LUCKY TO BE ALIVE AND NOW WE ARE LEFT WITH NO VEHICLE. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW THIS IS POSSIBLE ID LIKE TO HAVE MY VEHICLE REPLACED DUE TO THIS RECALL THAT WAS DEFECTIVE IN MY VEHICLE. WE HAVE A FRIEND WHO HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND THEY TOLD HIM THE SAME THING ABOUT HIS VIN SO HE TRADED HIS CAMARO IN FOR A DIFFERENT VEHICLE.
