2022 Toyota Redundant Sienna

05/13/23 - Hybrid malfunction, battery consistently dies/won't take a charge. 06/01 - 28/25 - Hybrid malfunction, Advanced Detection System Malfunction and Sonar Malfunction, ABS malfunction, Seatbelt malfunction, battery not charging. 06/09/23 - Van will not start; towed to Steet Toyota. Street confirmed numerous codes, AC issues. 06/27 - 07/06/23 - Van had to be taken to United Access, Albuquerque. 09/01/23 - 12/14/23 - Windshield wipers go off & run dry, cannot stop it & randomly happens. 10/11/23 - Hybrid malfunction, battery continues to die/won't take a charge. 10/23/23 - Hybrid malfunction, Advanced Detection System Malfunction and Sonar Malfunction, ABS malfunction, Seatbelt malfunction, battery not charging. Towed to United Access at personal expense. 11/12/23 - Picked up van from United Access repairs (dropped off 10/23/23). 12/08/24 - Hybrid malfunction, Advanced Detection System Malfunction and Sonar Malfunction, ABS malfunction, Seatbelt malfunction, battery not charging. Towed at personal expense. 12/08/24 - 01/15/25 - Hybrid malfunction, Advanced Detection System Malfunction and Sonar Malfunction, ABS malfunction, Seatbelt malfunction, battery dies/won't accept a charge. Hybrid malfunction, Advanced Detection System Malfunction and Sonar Malfunction, ABS malfunction, Seatbelt malfunction, battery dies/won't accept a charge; confirmed numerous codes. 05/24/24 - Hybrid malfunction, Advanced Detection System Malfunction and Sonar Malfunction, ABS malfunction, Seatbelt malfunction, battery issues. Windshield wipers still malfunctioning with no apparent cause. 07/25/24 - Hybrid malfunctions, confirms malfunctions & charging issues. 07/29 - 08/10/24 - Hybrid malfunction, Advanced Detection System Malfunction and Sonar Malfunction, ABS malfunction, Seatbelt malfunction, battery issues. Windshield wipers still malfunctioning with no apparent cause. 08/19/24 - Hybrid, Advanced Detection System, Sonar, ABS, seatbelt & battery dying. More issues.

Vehicle will not start every single winter! Has been in the toyota repair shop multiple times. Told me it was possibly the kick sensors that are activated in the cold, stay on and then run battery dead. It is currently 20 degrees outside, but was parked in the garage all night, and STILL won't start in the morning! Completely unreliable. Nearest dealership is 1 hour away from me. Kick sensors were replaced last year, battery has been checked. Still happens. The vehicle is completely unusable and unreliable. Other issue- battery is in the back of the vehicle and you cant open the back door to access the battery to charge it! You have to get an external battery charger, charge front battery to open back door then jump back battery. If I was out and about I would have no way to do that. Absolutely unacceptable and a reoccurring problem. This needs recalled. Many others online report the same issue. Please respond.

I my Sienna had its 12 volt battery depleted over night with no reason. After it was jump started, literally every single piece of equipment was malfunctioning and producing an alert (hybrid system, brake pressure, RCTA, BSM, AWD,tire pressure and so on). After several restarts of the engine (about 15 min after running engine), all systems went to normal except hybrid drive system, that still asked for maintenance and the tire pressure sensor was still on alert. However I drove the vehicle to a dealership in Maine after the parking brake finally decided to get loose again. These guys told me, they had just the same problem with another 2022 sienna a week before. However, they reseted the errors, and everything worked fine. They had no explanation why two sienna in one week come to their lot with a depleted battery and as a consequence with a malfunctioning hybrid systen. That's very unsatisfying.

During heavy rain exhaust system become dislodged and fell to the road, only hanging on by the engine connection. We had the vehicle towed to the dealership only to be told that is not a warranty issue. They did reinstall it in the rubber brackets. Due to my persistence a warranty claim was opened. There claim was that it hit something as there were marks across the muffler however those were made by dragging on the road until vehicle could be driven off the road. Knowing it was most likely water pressure from the water on the road that lifted the exhaust up and out of the rubber brackets, I wanted this documented. Although if the exhaust system had completely broken off from the engine it would have not hurt our vehicle occupants, any vehicles behind could have been hit.
