Living in upstate New York, nighttime temperatures frequently are less than 41 degrees. As a result I am reluctant to charge overnight. This defeats the purpose of a plug-in hybrid, resulting in higher fuel costs and excess vehicle pollution, not to mention additional anxiety due to potential fire! This is an unreasonable period of time to wait for such a potentially serious defect.

There’s a recall on my vehicle which Toyota has not remedied in a timely manner which may cause a potential fire. It is stated that the expected remedy to this recall would be replacing the dc-dc converter. I worry every day driving and charging this car about the potential fire risk and I’m having anxiety over this. This recall can put myself and others at risk. We are already in the fourth quarter of 2023 and yet nothing has been resolved. I am paying top dollar for this car and it’s defected.
