The system that is problematic for this vehicle is the Pre Collision System (PCS). This system is way too sensitive even on the lowest sensitivity setting, and I have experienced the car braking in error on multiple occasions when driving up or down a windy road. When I approach a bend in the road and there is a car parked on the side of the street, my Corolla will think that I am about to collide with the parked vehicle and make a loud beeping noise and automatically hit the brakes. This has frightened me on a number of occasions, and I am concerned that one day the car will brake in error while there is another vehicle behind me, resulting in a read-end collision. The only consistent method of avoiding this is to drive past the median in the road when approaching bends, which I very much dislike doing, as driving in the middle of the road has its own obvious risks. I have tried contacting the dealership about this, and was told to contact the service department. The service department was no help, saying that they aren't able to do anything about it and that I could try lowering the sensitivity of the PCS, which I had already done. This wouldn't be such a huge issue if there was a way to permanently turn it off. The process for turning it off takes about a minute, as it requires navigating a menu and finding the PCS option to turn off. Unfortunately, the PCS automatically reactivates every time the car is turned off and on again, and even if I use the shortcut method of holding the lane assist button for several seconds to disable the PCS, the car's screen will constantly flash, telling me that the PCS is turned off and annoying the driver to turn it back on. I know that Toyota does not have this issue with their PCS systems on their other vehicles, as I have driven a 2019 Camry before and the PCS system never went off when I drove on the same road, which led me to believe that the system on this 2024 Corolla is somehow defective.

I was accelerating on an on-ramp to merge with traffic on a freeway, and my corolla’s engine shut itself off. All the electronics stayed on and flashed the messages ‘Parking brake malfunction’ and something along the lines of ‘Secondary collision brake system malfunction’. I was stuck coasting in traffic and could not start the engine in neutral. I had to make the car come to a complete stop on the freeway in a lane with no shoulder, put it in park, turn it off, and then back on again. All messages and lights disappeared. I took it to a toyota dealership the next day and they couldn’t find anything. They told me they don’t know what caused it and sent me on my way.

My vehicle stalled when pulling out into traffic. I lost power steering and electrical and the engine died. The vehicle had to be restarted to continue driving. I was going about 1 to 2 mph when the issue happened. The vehicle was in motion and stalled while other vehicles were in motion putting my safety at risk, had I been going any faster or if there was an increased amount of traffic. I reported the problem to the dealer service center, but they were unable to reproduce it. The vehicle was inspected by Toyota only, no police or insurance. When the issue happened, a warning light appeared on the dash similar to a circle with an exclamation mark inside. There were no messages and no other symptoms prior to the failure.

The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds and decelerating, the vehicle was jerking abnormally. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made of the failure and a case was filed; however, the contact had not received any communication from the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 27,000.
Steering—car seems to slip when driving at 30mph and taking a curve. Very brief. Traveling at 70mph car shakes.

Experiencing a high-pitched whining/ringing sound from the air conditioning system. It is highly distracting and irritating, and basically prevents the use of some fan speed settings for extended durations due to the pain it causes. Many other Corolla owners are experiencing the same issue and Toyota refuses to take action in every case, saying the problem is "characteristic of the vehicle" or something to that effect. Issue is well-documented in this forum thread among other places. [XXX] See in particular post [XXX] for objective evidence of the sound and a probable root cause analysis. A particular chip resonates at about 15.7 kHz. I encourage you to put that frequency into an online tone generator to get an idea of the problem, although for some people, especially those who are older, sounds this high are inaudible like a dog whistle. My 2024 Carola Hybrid Headlights create blind spot in front of the car at night at 50meters to 100m by Toyota engineer design (there is a corner designed into the line of sight of the headlight). Toyota customer care and the dealer maintenance manager is saying the design is safety tested and approved. It needs to be retested at night!!! This is a clear design defect. It is especially dangerous curving left & making left turns on two way back roads and highways. Have to turn on brights to see but that creates risk to other drivers.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is unstable in detecting the front car, not only in light rainy conditions but also in heavy rainy conditions. The ACC fails to detect sedans and small SUVs but can detect larger vehicles such as pickup trucks and full-size SUVs. The car does not provide any warning sound or signal to the driver when failing to detect. This poses a significant safety risk as the driver may not be aware that the system selectively detects the front car in both light and heavy rainy conditions. The driver had barely avoided the accident.

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Corolla and Corolla Hybrid vehicles. Due to cracks developed during the manufacturing process, the steering intermediate shaft assembly may fracture and possibly result in the shaft detaching from the steering column.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A steering shaft that detaches can result in a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the intermediate steering shaft, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 17, 2025. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is 24TB13/24TA13.

Gulf States Toyota, Inc. (GST) is recalling certain Toyota 2023 GR Supra, 2024 4 Runner, Corolla, Grand Highlander, Grand Highlander Hybrid, Land Cruiser Hybrid, Tacoma, Tacoma Hybrid, 2023-2024 BZ4X, Corolla Cross Hybrid, GR Corolla, GR86, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid, Prius, Prius Prime, Sequoia Hybrid, Tundra, Tundra Hybrid, Venza Hybrid, 2023-2025 Crown, and 2025 Camry Hybrid vehicles equipped with GST accessories. The load carrying capacity modification label may display inaccurate added weight values. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle with an incorrect maximum capacity weight value may be overloaded, which can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: GST will mail new labels to owners, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 16, 2024. Owners may contact GST customer service at 1-800-444-1074. GST's number for this recall is 24R2.
