The contact owns a 2024 Suzuki V-Strom 800DE equipped with Dunlop tires, Tire Line: Trailmax Mixtour, Tire Size: 90/90/21(front) and 150/70/R17(rear), DOT: Rear tire (1EU3PYDFM3524), DOT: Front tire (N/A). The contact stated that while making a turn at 45 MPH, the motorcycle began to violently shake. There was no warning light illuminated. Upon inspection of the tires, the contact discovered that the center treads on the front and rear tires were worn. Despite the failure, the contact was able to ride the motorcycle back to the residence. The tires were taken to dealer where it was acknowledged that there were failures with the tires and referred the contact to the tire warranty department. The warranty department offered no assistance and the contact paid out-of-pocket for a new set of tires. The tires were replaced by the contact. The failure mileage was 1,700.

Suzuki Motor USA, LLC (Suzuki) is recalling certain 2023-2024 DL800DE motorcycles. The rear tire may crack or deform, resulting in tire tread separation.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Tread separation may cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Owners are advised not to ride their motorcycles until the remedy has been completed. Dealers will replace the rear tire, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 20, 2024. Owners may contact Suzuki customer service at 1-714- 572-1490. Suzuki's number for this recall is 3A03.
