I WAS RIDING MY MOTORCYCLE, (2006 SUZUKI M109R BOULEVARD) ON I465 IN THE MIDDLE LANE AT APPROXIMATELY 12:30 PM. I HEARD A LOUD THUD AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY REAR WHEEL LOCKED COMPLETELY UP. MY REAR END SLID OUT TO THE RIGHT, BUT SOMEHOW I WAS ABLE TO COUNTERSTEER THE MOTORCYCLE AND KEEP IT UPRIGHT. WITH JUST PURE LUCK I WAS ABLE…

I WAS RIDING MY MOTORCYCLE, (2006 SUZUKI M109R BOULEVARD) ON I465 IN THE MIDDLE LANE AT APPROXIMATELY 12:30 PM. I HEARD A LOUD THUD AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY REAR WHEEL LOCKED COMPLETELY UP. MY REAR END SLID OUT TO THE RIGHT, BUT SOMEHOW I WAS ABLE TO COUNTERSTEER THE MOTORCYCLE AND KEEP IT UPRIGHT. WITH JUST PURE LUCK I WAS ABLE TO REACH THE SHOULDER OF THE INTERSTATE AFTER SLIDING FOR ABOUT 100 FEET WITH NO BODILY HARM. AFTER LOOKING AT THE MOTORCYCLE I REALIZED THAT THE SWING ARM (WHICH HOUSES THE DRIVE SHAFT), HAD BROKEN COMPLETELY AND CAUSED THE BACK TIRE TO LOCK UP. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE, AND HAVE FOUND THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. THERE ARE MANY INSTANCES ON THE WEBSITE M109RIDERS.COM WITH PICTURES THAT ARE IDENTICAL TO THE INCIDENT THAT I EXPERIENCED. THE BREAK IN THE SWING ARM HAPPENED IN THE EXACT SPOT THAT ALL OF THE OTHERS DID. *TR
