Awning self deployed while underway. Canvas and housing ripped off landing in the road behind the vehicle. Arms were sticking out with no way of retracting as the power supply had been cut when the awning ripped off. We flagged down a passing truck whose driver had tools and helped us remove the arms. Awning self deployed while underway. Canvas and housing ripped off landing in the road behind the vehicle. Arms were sticking out with no way of retracting as the power supply had been cut when the awning ripped off. We flagged down a passing truck whose driver had tools and helped us remove the arms. If we had been on a highway it would have caused a very bad accident. Situation was immediately reported to the dealer Blue Dog RV in Medford, Oregon.
