TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 POLARIS RZR 900 (NA). WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 6 MPH, THE DRIVER STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED FLAMES UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A DEPOT. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED (LOUISIANA POWER SPORT IN BOSSIER, LA) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE FIRE WAS DUE TO USER ERROR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD BE INVESTIGATED. THE MANUFACTURER FURTHER STATED THAT THE FIRE STARTED DUE TO THE VENT LINE, WHICH WAS MODIFIED AND JEOPARDIZED THE INTEGRITY OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT SEND AN INVESTIGATOR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 667.
