OUR CARLISLE ST225/75R15 TIRES WERE PURCHASED WITH OUR TANDEM AXLE BOAT TRAILER IN 2009. SINCE THEN, WE HAVE TRAVELED AN ESTIMATED 2500 MILES ON THEM. WHEN IN STORAGE, WE KEPT THEM COVERED FROM THE SUN. THEY APPEARED TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION, SHOWED LITTLE WEAR AND CERTAINLY THAT DIDN'T SHOW ANYTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY. THE TRAILER WAS ALWAYS TOWED AT OR LESS THAN 55 MPH AND LESS THAN THE AGGREGATE RATED TIRE WEIGHT RATING. LAST YEAR, WE EXPERIENCED OUR FIRST BLOW OUT. LAST SATURDAY, AFTER CHECKING THE TIRE PRESSURE TO ENSURE A PRESSURE OF 80 PSI IN ALL FOUR TIRES AND WITH FAR LESS THAN THE RATED WEIGHT A TIRE BLEW OUT AFTER 15 MINUTES OF FREEWAY SPEEDS OF 55 MPH. LAST SUNDAY, AFTER SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCING THE TRAILER WEIGHT, ANOTHER TIRE BLEW OUT AFTER 15 MINUTES OF 55 MPH?TWO BLOWOUTS A DAY APART WITH THE PROPER TIRE PRESSURE WEIGHT AND SPEED.
