St235 80/R16 Today a tire under proper pressure blew traveling with a 30% load at 70mph. The tire split from the rim to the tread causing the tire and tread to fail. St235 80/R16 Today a tire under proper pressure blew traveling with a 30% load at 70mph. The tire split from the rim to the tread causing the tire and tread to fail. The trailer was less than a year old and around 5000 miles on the tires. Tires are checked for wear and proper inflation pressure with each trip. This is the second tire from this trailer that has failed. The first the belt failed causing tread failure which was caught during routine inspection before complete failure.
