Upon my husband going to start the vehicle in the morning, he smelled an electrical fire. The door was locked which was odd so he attempted to use the key fob to unlock and it did not work. He went around to the passenger side door and it opened. To his surprise the interior of the vehicle smelled very strongly of smoke and the windows were black. He was able to get the drivers side door open to realize that the left side of the dash was completely melted along with the fuse box, hood latch, the door, the floor mat, the carpet, the headliner and everything on that side was burned/melted. The heat from the fire shattered the windshield. The vehicle was driven the day prior with no inclination of any problems and was parked in the driveway for the night. A phone call was made to Nissan and a case number was provided.

The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the dashboard wiring harness. The contact stated that there was excessive moisture within the driver's side footwell, resulting in electrical failures. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V024000 (Electrical System); the VIN was included, but the vehicle had previously been inspected and it was determined that the repair was not necessary, and the VIN was removed from the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 130,000.

My car has been hacked electronically. I've reported this to Nissan, and to the NIssan dealership at the 60,000 mile check-up. My safety has been impacted through the brakes coming on automatically (I just had them serviced - hopefully this will help), but if there is an electrical component, it may be tied into the navigation system as well. I do Door Dash, and at certain times, I've had my phone navigation fail, and then my car navigation fails for no reason. If one system fails, okay, because I have Google Maps on my phone and also car navigation. When all three aren't working at the same time - it is a targeted effort. There are also loud noises coming from the car speakers, I'm unsure if there is an issue with Nissan Connect? I'll give an approximate date, but these are happening multiple dates.

Burger King doesn't always kick on and I have to turn the car off and turn it on before it'll kick on even when it's in the on position. Don't feel any air coming out until I turn the car off. Turn it back on then it starts working again. Also the radio doesn't want to turn off or turn on at times and so again I will turn the car off and on and it seems to reset and then I can work the radio. But I've done this on a few occasions where when I turn the car back on it still didn't work the radio.

2019 Nissan Rogue, this is the first (09/21/21) of 2 (03/16/22) electrical issues with my car which I bought new from a Nissan Dealer. The mileage on 9/21/21 was 9,868. There had been a squealing noise heard when turning off my car and opening the drivers door. Then while driving it 3/16/21 my vehicle doors began to unlock and lock which was confusing and annoying and then a yellow warning light lit on the dashboard when I went over bumps in the road then the cruise control shut off at the same time. Luckily there weren’t any cars around my car. My Cairn Terrier dog was riding in the backseat. His collar was attached via leash to the headrest for safety. I had no idea what was going on with my car. I drove to the Nissan Dealer they looked my car over. They claimed the hatch was not shut as the cause. It made no sense to me as the above happened as I was driving and no dash light went on until my car doors started locking and unlocking and the cruise control shut off when I went over bumps. Refer to my second complaint for the next electrical issue that happened 6 months after this one it relates again to the cruise control. I filed a separate complaint for the 2nd electrical issue (mileage 12,120) with NHTSA.

Climates are too cold or too hot to not have access to working AC/Heat in North Carolina. I have gone all winter with no heat and it has been frustrating to keep warm while operating my vehicle. I have gotten 2 different mechanics to look at the car and I have even gone as far as to change the Thermostate and check all fluids in the engine. Nothing has changed. I believe it is an electrical issue due to the the AC/ Heat climate control part #275004BB0C replaced and having the 2nd part work for only a week to fail again.

Remedy: Dealers will insert a spacer into the key slot of the jackknife key, free of charge. Interim notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed March 29, 2023. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 30, 2023. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is R22C5.
