2018 Nissan Rogue Sport

Nissan Rogue Sport with 39,500 miles. While driving on a busy highway the vehicle all of a sudden was losing power and surging dangerously. Barely made it home. There were no warning lights. It had to be towed to a garage. There were no leaks. I was told the CVT transmission would have to be replaced. It was towed to a Nissan dealer who verified the CVT transmission would indeed need to be replaced. Nissan said that because the Motor oil changes were not done at a Nissan dealer they would not give good will assistance on this car. I told them that motor oil has nothing to do with the CVT transmission. They didn't seem to care, they just said they are not helping.

A/C Started blowing warm air when car was idling, then car randomly overheated while sitting in traffic. Once car cooled down, check to coolant levels and they were fine. After the car sat overnight A/C worked fine and temperature gauge was at normal. Started the car with A/C on and popped the hood, the radiator fan was not on nor did it come on. Now anytime the car idles for more than 1 or 2 minutes it overheats.

Radiator fan failure. At around 47000 miles the radiator fan gave out. Ours caused our car to overheat on the highway and start smoking. We took it to a repair shop and got it fixed for between $1000-1500. At that time, we saw plenty of users reporting the same issue around the same mileage mark. It has now been two years since that repair and our fan is starting to squeak and make noise again like it did the few months before it gave out the first time. Our mileage is now 57,000 and I expect we will need to replace our fan within the next 6 months. Also, when trying to get the fan replaced, it is often on back order which our mechanic found interesting—showing this must be a common occurrence with these vehicles. Not only is this a safety issue, it will have costed us almost 3k within 3 years. And who knows how long our next replacement will last.

The dealer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 78,436.

While driving my 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport the car began to overheat when i slowed down or came to a stop. I brought it to my mechanic who informed me the radiator cooling fan failed and had to be replaced. I found out that many Nissan Rogue Sport models have had this issue. I think it is a saftey isse when you car overheats....
