I HAVE A 2016 NISSAN QUEST. IT SNOWED LAST NIGHT, AND A PIECE OF ICE GOT STUCK IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE AND KEPT THE HANDLE SLIGHTLY AJAR. BECAUSE OF THIS, THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN USING THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE. I HAD TO UNROLL THE WINDOW, AND PUSH THE EXTERIOR HANDLE BACK TO ITS NORMAL POSITION BE…

I HAVE A 2016 NISSAN QUEST. IT SNOWED LAST NIGHT, AND A PIECE OF ICE GOT STUCK IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE AND KEPT THE HANDLE SLIGHTLY AJAR. BECAUSE OF THIS, THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN USING THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE. I HAD TO UNROLL THE WINDOW, AND PUSH THE EXTERIOR HANDLE BACK TO ITS NORMAL POSITION BEFORE THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE WOULD OPEN THE DOOR. I AM GRAVELY CONCERNED ABOUT THE DESIGN OF THE DOOR LATCH MECHANISM. IT WOULD BE LOGICAL THAT THE INTERIOR HANDLE SHOULD OVERRIDE ANY STATE THE THAT THE EXTERIOR HANDLE IS IN (FOR EXAMPLE, IF THE EXTERIOR HANDLE WAS DAMAGED IN AN ACCIDENT) AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION.
