DT: CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL FOR THE FRONT TIRES. BEFORE RECEIVING THE RECALL CONSUMER ROTATED THE TIRES ,TAKING THE TWO FRONT TIRES OFF AND PUTTING THEM ON THE BACK INNER REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE RECALL LETTER STATED THAT DEALER WOULD ONLY REPLACE THE TWO FRONT TIRES AND THEY DID. BUT THOSE WERE NOT THE ORIGINAL FRONT TIRES, AND BECAUSE THEY HAD BEEN ROTATED AND PUT T ON THE BACK, DEALER WOULDN'T REPLACE THEM IN THE RECALL. THERE WERE THREE DIFFERENT TIRE BLOW OUTS. THE FIRST ONE OCCURRED BEFORE THE RECALL. CONSUMER HAD TO FIND THAT SIZE TIRE SO HE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER, AND THEY SAID TO PUT THE RECALL SIZE ON THE TIRES. MANUFACTURER REIMBURSE CONSUMER FOR THAT TIRE. THE TIRE WAS LOCATED ORIGINALLY ON THE FRONT, BUT IT WAS ROTATED TO INNER REAR AT THE TIME OF THE BLOW OUT. THE SECOND TIME THE TIRE WAS LOCATED ON THE INNER REAR AND IT WAS ROTATED FROM THE FRONT, BUT IT WAS NOT AN ORIGINAL TIRE. IT HAD BEEN ON THE FRONT ABOUT 1500 MILES AFTER IT GOT ROTATED. THE THIRD TIME THE TIRE HAD BEEN ON THE FRONT AT SOME POINT. ALL TOGETHER 3 OF THE 4 TIRES BLEW OUT. ONE OF THE ORIGINAL FRONT TIRES GOT MOVED TO THE INNER REAR, AND IT WAS THE FIRST OF THE THREE BLOW OUTS. THE OTHER ORIGINAL FRONT TIRE WAS USED AS A SPARE TIRE AND IS CURRENTLY LOCATED ON THE INNER REAR.*AK

ON THE DATE BELOW, I HAD THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE BLOW OUT ON MY 1999 NEWMAR DUTCH STAR WITH MICHELIN 255 80R 22.5 TIRES. THE TIRE PRESSURE WAS WELL MAINTAINED, THE DAY WAS FAIRLY WARM IN MONTANA, AND I WAS DRIVING SLOWLY GOING UP A STEEP HILL WHEN THE BLOWOUT OCCURRED. I READ ON AN RV FORUM THAT THIS IS VERY COMMON.*AK

Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling various 1995-2018 motorhomes. A list of the affected vehicles available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V809-2309.pdf. These motorhomes are equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers that may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Consequence & remedy

Consequence: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
