PREMATURE ENGINE FAILURE, 2004 MOTOR GUZZI BREVA 750 SERVICE TECH INDICATED THAT IT APPEARED TO BE CAUSED BY MANUFACTURING DEFECT. *BF THE CONSUMER STATED HE PRIMARILY RODE THE MOTORCYCLE ON SHORT TRIPS 50 MILES OR LESS OR AROUND HIS HOME. IT HAS BEEN GARAGED AND PROPERLY MAINTAINED AND ONLY RIDDEN IN NICE WEATHER. THE CONSUMERS SON WAS RIDING THE BIKE WHEN SUDDENLY THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. THE MOTORCYCLE WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE DEALER. AFTER DISASSEMBLING THE ENGINE; IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE LEFT CYLINDER ROD BEARING HAD SPUN CAUSING COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE. THE ENGINE WAS DETERMINED TO HAVE PLENTY OF OIL. *JB
