TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 MITSUBISHI FK/FM COMMERCIAL TRUCK (NA). WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER CLEANING AND REGENERATION (DPF) WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE FAILURES OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT IMMEDIATELY PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE DPF REGENERATION FAILED TO AUTOMATICALLY RESPOND AND THE DPF MANUAL REGENERATION SWITCH WAS ENGAGED TO THE "ON" POSITION AND THEN RELEASED. THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION AND WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER ON TWELVE SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR THE IDENTICAL FAILURES, BUT THERE WERE NO RESOLUTIONS. THE DEALER CHANGED THE FUEL INJECTORS AND REPLACED THE COMMON RAIL AND CPU. THE VIN WAS NOT ACCEPTED BY THE SYSTEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,600 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,124.
