McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing, Inc. (McNeilus) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Volterra ZSL side loader garbage trucks. A software error may cause the grabber fingers to move without input from the operator.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: Grabber fingers that unintentionally moves may strike a person or vehicle next to the truck, increasing the risk of injury or a crash.

Remedy: McNeilus will update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 5, 2026. Owners may contact McNeilus customer service at 1-888-686-7278.

McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing, Inc. (McNeilus) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Volterra side loader trucks. The intermediate side reflex reflectors may be missing. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: Missing reflectors can reduce the vehicle's visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: McNeilus will install the side reflectors, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 9, 2025. Owners may contact McNeilus Customer Service at 1-888-686-7278.
