The problem with the vehicle is severe failure of the frame axle brackets. These brackets were discovered to have serious failure during a frame inspection in May 2022. The brackets are L-shaped aluminum which the steel axles bolt onto. The brackets are all failing in the same way: stress cracks in the 90-degree bend in the aluminum frame bracket. 3 of the 4 brackets have failed (half of each bracket cracked off). The vehicle is available for inspection at the moment, but I am pursuing getting the issue fixed. I have taken a number of pictures to document the failure. Full failure of any of these brackets will result in the axle becoming detached from the vehicle. This poses an significant risk as the trailer will no longer be maneuverable since it will be dragging on the ground and could contribute to an vehicle accident. The detached axle is a sizeable component which also poses a risk if struck by other vehicles. Luckily I caught the issue before catastrophic failure occurred during operation. At the moment the vehicle is unusable until the problem is fixed. I have seen accounts of this failure posted by others online, so it is somewhat "known". I am not aware of any recalls or response for other instances from the manufacturer. My vehicle has not been reported or inspected by the manufacturer because the brand (Livin Lite) was discontinued by parent company Thor / KZ Industries around 2019. The only warning would be from a manual inspection of the trailer frame; there are otherwise no indicators that the brackets are going to fail.
