The dealer was contacted, and the vehicle was diagnosed. The contact was informed that there was coolant leaking into the engine block and that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact owns a 2019 Lexus NX300. The contact stated there was a misfire in the engine and the engine was idling rough. The contact heard a clicking sound coming from the steering wheel while driving at speeds of approximately 10 MPH or slower and when turning the steering wheel. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was related to TSB: L-SB-007-21; NHTSA ID Number: 11003637 (Engine). The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed with a misfire. The dealer also diagnosed the vehicle with the front axle failure. The contact was informed that the front axle needed to be replaced. The front axle was replaced; however, the sound persisted. The vehicle engine was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2018 Camry, 2019 Lexus NX300, and 2019 RX350L vehicles. The low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 12, 2025. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TA01 and 25LA01.
