Started to leave for a trip with our 2010 Keystone Cougar 27ft 5th Wheel, got about a block away and the trailer overhang portion was started to come down on the back of our truck so drove back home and unhooked the trailer. Discovered that we have a flex frame issue, broken welds in the overhang portion. Total failure of the pin box while towing! Posed significant road hazard if we had continued driving. The whole overhang portion would have fallen on top of our truck and caused a wreck. Opened a case file with Keystone about the upper deck frame flex failure. They did not offer any assistance due to the age of the trailer. Adam Hahn with NW Bearing & Brake Mobil RV in Tucson was able to diagnose the problem for us. The 5th wheel can no longer be towed now.

CONSUMER STATES PROBLEMS WITH CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR WAS NOT DISPLAYING A GREEN LIGHT. AFTER REMOVING IT, THE CONSUMER DISCOVERED IT WAS NOT BATTERY OPERATED, BUT RATHER HARD WIRED. THE WIRES WERE NOT CONNECTED TO ANYTHING. THE SCREWS TO THE DRAWERS WERE NOT LONG ENOUGH AND THE SLIDES HAD NO SUPPORT. THE CABINET DOORS UNDER THE SINK CAME COMPLETELY OFF, DUE TO THE SCREWS NOT BEING PROPERLY SECURED. THE DOOR AND SURROUNDING FRAME CAME OFF AND IT WAS DISCOVERED IT WAS KEPT IN PLACE WITH STAPLES AND NOT SCREWS. ANOTHER MOTORIST ALERTED THE CONSUMER THAT THE BUMPER HAD COME LOOSE FROM THE BACK OF THE TRAILER AND THE SPARE TIRE WAS DRAGGING ON THE ROAD. A REPAIR SHOP RE-WELDED THE BUMPER USING METAL L'S TO HOLD IT IN PLACE. *JB
