I HAD WAITED FOR THE GREEN LIGHT TO CHANGE. WHEN ABOUT 1 AND HALF BLOCKS FROM MY APARTMENT. I NOTICE A SIZZLING SOUND. AND THEN SMELL LIKE SMOKE. AND ALL IN A SUDDEN. THERE WAS WHITE OR LIGHT BLUISH COLOR. COVERING ALL OVER ME. THIS CAME OUT OF THE ENGINE. AND ALSO MY PIPE. AND THE MOTORCYCLE HAD SEIZED. WHEN I HAD STOP AT THE STOP LIGHT. TO MAKE A LEFT TURN TO GO HOME. I HAD TO START THE MOTORCYCLE UP AGAIN. AS I RODE IT CLOSELY TO MY APARTMENT GARAGE. THE SMOKE GOTTEN WORSE. I COULD NOT SEE ANYTHING IN FRONT OF ME. I HAD CALLED WHERE I PURCHASED MY MOTORCYCLE. HONDA OF HOLLYWOOD. THE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR NAMED FERNANDO TOLD ME. I CAN NOT GET THERE TOWING SERVICE. BECAUSE HE WAS TOWING OTHER MOTORCYCLE. BECAUSE OF THE NEW MOTORCYCLE MERGER. SO I HAD TO WAIT TO THE FOLLOWING MONDAY. TO GET IT TOWED THERE. WHEN HE TURN MY MOTORCYCLE ON. HE TOLD ME. THIS IS GOING TO BE A BIG JOB. THIS DOESN'T SOUND RIGHT WITH THE ENGINE. FOR TWO WEEKS. THEY DIDN'T CALL ME. I HAD TO CALL THEM. HE TOLD ME. THE REASONS WHY THEY DIDN'T WORK ON MY MOTORCYCLE. IS THEY JUST GOTTEN THE WORD. THEY WILL NO LONGER SERVICE KAWASAKI MOTORCYCLES. SO I HAD TO LOOK INTO THE INTERNET TO FIND ANOTHER MC SERVICE. THAT CAN WARRANTY SERVICE MY MC. WHICH IS PACIFIC POWER SPORTS IN MARINA DEL REY. THE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR NAMED: OSCAR. TOLD ME DON'T WORRY. THIS IS ABOUT TWO WEEKS LATER. HE HAS NOT WORKED ON MY MC. TELLING ME TODAY. 3/25/15. I HAVE TO PAY ABOUT $390.00 TO FIX. (Kawasaki) is recalling certain model year 2009-2013 Kawasaki Concours 14 and 14ABS motorcycles manufactured May 8, 2008, to February 20, 2013, and modified for police authority use. The additional police accessories may cause the 30-amp main fuse to blow. Also, the additional police wiring harness may chafe leading to a short, which may blow the main fuse.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the fuse blows, the engine will stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Kawasaki has notified the affected police departments and will send trained personnel to repair the motorcycles, free of charge. The recall began April 13, 2015.
