The contact stated that while the trailer was empty and being hitched to a 2023 Ford F-450, the trailer was raised 4 1/2 inches off the ground, scraping the roadway. The contact's employer owns a 2024 Kaufman GVWR 38500 gooseneck trailer. The contact stated that while the trailer was empty and being hitched to a 2023 Ford F-450, the trailer was raised 4 1/2 inches off the ground, scraping the roadway. The contact's company, a trailer manufacturer, was unable to adjust the hitch height above 4 1/2 inches from the ground. The trailer was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and recommended adding an extension to raise the hitch height; however, the contact stated that the front of the trailer would be raised by 10 inches but the back would not be level. The failure mileage was unknown.
