2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee

2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee with approximately 34,214 miles. The vehicle has an ongoing clicking noise during acceleration and deceleration that has been presented to an authorized Jeep dealership for repair on multiple occasions and remains unresolved. The vehicle was returned to the dealership again on September 4, 2026. The repair order documents “CLICKING NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING AND SLOWING DOWN.” The clicking concern originally began much earlier in the vehicle's life and has continued despite repeated service visits and attempts to diagnose the cause. During this most recent visit, the vehicle also had a red brake warning displayed on the dashboard. The dealership advised me that this warning was related to a computer issue that required a reset. The reset was performed and I was advised that the braking system was functioning properly. The warning has not returned as of the date of this complaint. I am including this only as part of the vehicle's service history. My primary concern is the recurring clicking during acceleration and deceleration. The cause has not been identified or corrected despite repeated warranty service visits. The manufacturer has also been notified of this ongoing issue. I have repeatedly requested that my manufacturer case remain open while the concern remains unresolved, but the case has previously been closed despite those requests. The vehicle remains under the manufacturer's warranty. I am submitting this complaint so that the recurring unresolved condition is formally documented with NHTSA in the event that similar complaints are reported by other owners.

While driving my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, the vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly applied the brakes very hard without any braking input from me. There was no apparent obstacle, vehicle, or other condition in front of me that would have required emergency braking. The braking was extremely abrupt and forceful. The sudden deceleration caused my seat belt to lock and restrain me hard enough to cause significant bruising and pain across my chest and reconstructed breasts. I recently underwent a double mastectomy with breast reconstruction, which made the impact and resulting injury particularly concerning. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealership immediately following the incident because I am concerned that the vehicle's automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning system, or another braking or electronic system may have malfunctioned. The dealership has now had the vehicle for approximately one week. I have been advised that they have been unable to reproduce the incident or identify a problem that explains why the vehicle unexpectedly applied the brakes. I am extremely concerned about operating the vehicle because the cause of this unintended braking event has not been identified or repaired, and I have no assurance that it will not happen again. An unexpected emergency-braking event at highway speed, in traffic, or with another vehicle traveling closely behind could result in a serious collision or injury. This incident is particularly concerning to me given the other safety-related recalls and issues affecting my Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. I am submitting this complaint so NHTSA has a record of the unintended braking event and can determine whether similar incidents have been reported involving this vehicle or its braking/automatic emergency braking systems.

While flat towing this vehicle there was a failure that caused the brakes to melt down and almost start a vehicle fire. The proper process for flat towing for both the vehicle and the brake buddy classic 3 system were followed. The dealership would not provide the data log report which would explain the cause of the problem, but just blame the towing system. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act they are required to show proof of the fault.

brand new 2025 jeep grand Cherokee less than 3 weeks old - I just got into an accident last night on the freeway my car began to decelerate and accelerator completely stopped working. I noticed an AEBS alert and engine light on the dash but came close to no other cars for this to have come on. Came to a complete stop and I look down and the car is in park. I was unable to put the car back in drive on the freeway. Put on my hazards and called 911 immediately, knowing how dire the situations was, while trying to find a way to get moving, and watched as I was rear ended by a pickup going full speed.
