BELOW IS THE LETTER I SENT TO STELLANTIS. I am writing to file an urgent and formal complaint regarding ongoing, severe safety and functionality issues with my Jeep 4xe , leased through Stellantis Financial. These issues have not only rendered the vehicle unreliable, but they have also endangered my life, the lives of my children, and the public-particularly as I work in an elementary school setting where safety is paramount. Most alarmingly, my Jeep 4xe recently reversed on its own at an accelerated speed without input, and would not stop until I prompted the brakes repeatedly. Had a child or pedestrian been behind the vehicle, the incident could've resulted in severe injury or death. As a parent and educator, this experience was traumatizing and has left me fearful of operating the vehicle in any public or residential space. Additionally, my vehicle frequently enters "turtle mode" (reduced power mode) without warning, significantly increasing my risk of being rear- ended in traffic. This unpredictability is unacceptable for any vehicle-especially one marked as a safe, family-friendly hybrid. These critical safety failures began shortly after the recall involving the vehicle's battery. Since then I've experienced: *Multiple simultaneous sensor malfunctions *Reduced driving speeds and performance *Inability to charge the vehicle on a professionally installed Level 2 charger *Recurring shop visits without permanent resolution While earlier issues were inconvenient, they pale in comparison to the dangerous and erratic behavior of the vehicle now. Despite repeated attempts by service technicians to address these problems, each "fix" is followed by a new or recurring issue. This pattern shows that the vehicle is fundamentally flawed and no longer safe to operate.

While driving at approximately 20 - 35 mph, the passenger side rear suspension coil spring fell off. When that happened, the vehicle sank on that side (rear, right side) and the coil spring and spring pad components projected outwards with force towards the road side. No dash lights were activated but, vehicle was exhibiting an unstable (bouncy) driving condition. The vehicle was towed to authorized service center for repairs and a claim was initiated with the manufacturer out of abundance of caution since the event has a resemblance to NHTSA Recall No. 23V-413 (JUN, 2023) and Safety Recall Notice 64A. Said Recall appears on the manufacturer's website as completed for this vehicle.

Driving in [XXX] in the HOV lanes on the evening of 22 June, the car traveled over an uneven section of the road. Heard a noise and felt the car go over a small bump. Car ride felt slightly different and continued on to home. Next day, looked at cat and the rear end was sitting uneven. Right rear lower than left rear. Looked under the rear of the car and saw the right rear coil spring was not there. The left rear spring is still in place. Prior to this, there was no problem with the ride or suspension of the car. There are no warning lights on the dash currently or prior to the spring falling off the car. I am not driving the car to to what I consider an unsafe condition. Vehicle: 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe Problem Description: While driving at highway speeds, the vehicle suddenly loses all propulsion and displays a message stating: “Put in Park Before Restarting.” This happens without warning, creating an immediate safety risk in traffic. The engine shuts down, and I am forced to stop in the middle of the road, shift to park, and manually restart the vehicle. This has occurred multiple times. The dealership and Jeep customer service acknowledges the issue but says no repair is available and has not resolved it. I’ve also been without a reliable vehicle since February 2025. I am aware of NHTSA complaints #11579877 and #11576290 describing identical problems in the same make/model/year. I believe this defect is related to the battery or hybrid powertrain system and poses a serious safety hazard to myself and others. I am also aware of NHTSA Recall 24V720000 related to battery issues, which may be linked to this sudden power loss. We were driving our 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe and pulled into a parking lot and put the vehicle in Park. At this point the vehicle started flashing the battery light and would not turn off nor were we able to put the vehicle in drive. Essentially the entire vehicle was just sitting and running, but was inoperable and we were unable to shut the vehicle off. We left the vehicle running and walked away with our key fobs, but the vehicle would still not shut off. It's a safety issue to have a vehicle running and not be able to put it inn drive or turn it off. We had to call a flat bed tow truck. The vehicle is currently at the dealer and they are not sure what is wrong with it. The warning lamp that came on was the red battery light and Auto Emergency Braking - Active Braking On was flashing across the screen, but the vehicle wasn't engaged in driving. We have the fob information from when we dropped the vehicle off, but nothing has been confirmed.

I was traveling on the highway at highway speed during peak commuting times when a notice to service hybrid system was displayed on the gauge cluster. The vehicle then lost all acceleration and shut down. I had to safely navigate to the side of the road with zero ability to accelerate or brake in fear of not being able to get off the roadway safely. I was automatically shifted into park once I reached a speed of around 5 mph.

There was a recall for my cars, hybrid electrical system. We were told not to park it in the garage, not to plug it in, etc., for months. That was in the fall of 2024. In December, I had to have my car towed to the dealershipto have regular battery replaced under warranty, and while it was there, Jake Sweeney Jeep, in Cincinnati, allegedly did the recall service. Immediately thereafter, my car started losing power while I was driving, with a message reading, Service hybrid electrical system.“ My car has been back to the dealership four times, I had a Starr case opened with Jeep, and was told that they are aware of the problem, don’t know when it will be fixed, and that I should take the car back home. It has happened when I was driving 65 mph on a highway, complete loss of power, I had to limp over to the shoulder, then back to the dealership. The codes were red, and the technicians said they were aware of it, but had no fix for it. They said they even had some units for sale on their lot with the exact same problem. At this time, Jeep is saying they do not know when They will have a fix for this on the hybrid vehicles. This seems very unsafe to me, because it happens, intermittently, at all different speeds.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE vehicles. The rear coil springs may be incorrectly installed and detach from the vehicle while driving.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Rear coil springs that detach from the vehicle while driving increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the rear coil spring lower isolators, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed September 29, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 89D. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov on September 9, 2026. This recall replaces NHTSA recall numbers 26V051 and 23V413. Consequence: A missing gear selection indicator may lead to unintended vehicle movement or a vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe and 2022-2026 Grand Cherokee 4Xe vehicles. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle fire can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures and not to charge their vehicles until the remedy is completed. Dealers will update the high voltage battery software, and replace the high voltage battery, as necessary, free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 17, 2025. The Central Vision Park Assist module (CVPAM) software may prevent the rearview image from displaying when the vehicle is placed in reverse. Consequence: A rearview image that does not display while in reverse decreases the driver's visibility of the rear view, increasing the risk of injury or crash.
