I am filing a formal safety complaint regarding my hybrid Jeep vehicle due to ongoing and unresolved safety issues that present a significant risk to myself and others. Since the beginning of ownership, I have experienced repeated and escalating problems with the vehicle, including: * Hybrid system malfunction warnings and persistent red wrench indicator * Aggressive and unsafe gear shifting while driving * Vehicle stalling unexpectedly * Vehicle intermittently failing to turn on or shut off properly In addition to these critical concerns, my vehicle has been under Recall 68C since October 2025. To date, there has been no available remedy provided. I have been explicitly instructed not to park the vehicle in a garage or near structures and to avoid charging the vehicle due to an increased risk of fire. This situation has created significant hardship and safety concerns. I am unable to safely use or store my vehicle as intended. I have also been informed that potential fire damage related to this issue may not be covered by homeowners insurance, further increasing the risk and liability I am being forced to assume. Despite repeated attempts to address these issues through proper channels, including dealership service visits and manufacturer communication, no resolution has been provided. This vehicle poses a clear safety hazard due to: * Risk of fire associated with the hybrid battery system * Unpredictable stalling and drivetrain behavior while in operation * Lack of manufacturer remedy for an active safety recall I am requesting immediate investigation, accountability, and corrective action to ensure the safety of consumers affected by this issue

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V741000 (Electrical System) and 25V576000 (Electrical System). The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and turned off in the driveway, she heard popping noises and saw smoke coming from underneath the vehicle near the rear passenger seat. The contact called the fire department, which responded and extinguished the fire. The firefighters cut the battery lines, removed the battery, and pushed the vehicle away from the contact's home. A hazmat team arrived and sprayed water on the battery for three hours. A fire department report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the manufacturer's investigation unit inspected the vehicle and determined that the failure was related to the battery. The contact was informed that the battery failure was covered under warranty, which was extended. The insurance company was notified of the failure, but informed the contact that the battery was not covered by the policy. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a loss of drive power four to six months before the failure, which she related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V576000 (Electrical System). The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and two cases were filed. The manufacturer issued a letter instructing the dealer to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.

I am reporting a systemic safety failure involving a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee sold as a "Certified Pre-Owned" (CPO) vehicle. Despite the mandatory 125-point CPO safety inspection, the vehicle was delivered with multiple safety-critical defects that should have prevented certification. Primary Safety Risks: Suspension/Stability: The vehicle exhibits vibration and instability at all speeds, resulting in a loss of steering stability and difficulty maintaining lane position at highway speed. Tire Integrity: The vehicle was sold with dry-rotted tires, indicating structural degradation that poses a high risk of catastrophic failure/blowout. Electrical/Powertrain: The Auto Start/Stop system is faulty. Additionally, the paddle shifters are non-functional, which interferes with manual gear selection and driver control over the powertrain. The selling dealership has refused to acknowledge these defects or bring the vehicle into compliance with manufacturer safety standards. Furthermore, Stellantis Corporate has failed to provide a safety compliance review. These mechanical and electrical defects existed at the time of sale and represent a failure of the CPO safety process.

The manufacturer has no repair available and no estimated timeline. I have no access to my vehicle and have been forced to pay for rental cars out of pocket, with only partial reimbursement. The vehicle has now been out of service for over 50 days. I am requesting assistance with a buyback or full resolution of this.

Unknown what actually occurs but the entire car shuts off while driving. It has happened to me twice in traffic. Once no warnings, the second time the tire pressure sensor fault flashed went away and then the entire car just shut down while I was driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the recall repair was performed the following day. The contact received a phone call; the contact was informed that the recall repair had failed and destroyed the ECM. The contact was informed that the vehicle was no longer driven. The contact was informed that the computer needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the parts were ordered and would be delivered within two days. The contact stated that there had not been any additional updates from the dealer. The contact stated that the vehicle was purchased on March 3, 2026. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48,722.

I was driving on the highway when all of a sudden my gas pedal stopped propelling the car and the engine seemed to be off. I looked at the dash board and saw that the car was indicating it was off and that I needed to step on the brake and hit the ignition button to turn it back on. I barely had control of the car but was able to pull off to the side of the road. I then had to wait several minutes for the car to respond and turn back on. This has happened in the past to me with this car but this is the first time I knew I could report it here. This is a terrible vehicle and I’ve had nothing but safety issues with it since I leased it.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE vehicles. The rear coil springs may be incorrectly installed and detach from the vehicle while driving.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Rear coil springs that detach from the vehicle while driving increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the rear coil spring lower isolators, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed September 29, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 89D. A software error may cause the transmission gear selection indicator not to display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 102, "Transmission shift lever sequence, starter interlock, and transmission braking effect."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A missing gear selection indicator may lead to unintended vehicle movement or a vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe and 2022-2026 Grand Cherokee 4Xe vehicles. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle fire can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures and not to charge their vehicles until the remedy is completed. Dealers will update the high voltage battery software, and replace the high voltage battery, as necessary, free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 17, 2025. When the master headlight switch is set to the AUTO position, the driver may be unable to quickly activate the high beams. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: High beam headlights that do not activate as intended can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

The Central Vision Park Assist module (CVPAM) software may prevent the rearview image from displaying when the vehicle is placed in reverse. Remedy: Dealers will inspect and if necessary, repair the rear coil spring assemblies, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 29, 2023.
