2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L

The contact owns a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the buttons on the steering wheel failed to operate as intended. The contact stated that while at a gas station, attempting to start the vehicle and depressing the brake pedal, the ABS failure warning light illuminated. The contact stated that a dealer was contacted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the ABS needed to be replaced. The ABS was replaced, and instrument panel was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was informed that there would be a follow-up regarding the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000.

We leased this car in April of 2025. When we got the car it had a strong smell like gasoline. The dealer said it would go away in a few days. The smell only got worse, so the dealer picked it up to “clean it” He returned the car 2 days later in which the gas smell was even worse and made me dizzy/nauseous. The dealer took it back for a more involved “cleaning” and it’s been over 2 weeks now. The dealer cannot tell us what’s wrong with the car and why it smells like gasoline, they are stating they are waiting on new parts for the car (such as carpeting) The dealer did not provide us with any receipts so we do not have documentation of what they did to the car At this point we feel unsafe to drive the car especially with our young children-we are stuck paying a lease for a lemon car.

There were no warning lights illuminated. On a separate occasion, the contact stated that while the vehicle was driven over 60 MPH, the vehicle made an abnormally loud sound coming from the muffler. The contact merged to the side of the road, turned off the vehicle, and after the engine cooled down, the vehicle functioned properly if the vehicle did not exceed 60 MPH. On another occasion, while the vehicle was parked outside a store, the contact went back to start the vehicle, and the brake warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was started; however, the transmission failed to shift into drive or reverse. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 714.

With approximately 8,000 miles on vehicle, it began to buck and decrease speed once hitting the set cruise control speed. Later in the road trip, with 30 miles left until empty the vehicle shut off on the highway. Vehicle would not start and headlights would not illuminate. Roadside assistance provided gas can. Put approximately 5 gallons of gas in vehicle and range increased to 31 miles to empty. Vehicle then started and was able to be driven home.
