I was driving down the interstate. Left Lincoln NE and made it about 20 miles east or [XXX]. A few miles before I broke down a light came on on my dash. I wasn’t sure what it was for. I was going 80 mph when my vehicle appeared to shift out of gear. I could push the gas but it didn’t cause me to accelerate. I got pulled over to the side of the road and tried shifting into park and then back into drive. It still appeared to be in neutral I guess. I called a tow truck who took me to a transmission shop in [XXX]. After plugging it in to a code reader I was told that the PTU Actuator had went out and would need replaced. I later received a Recall for the PTU on my vehicle in the mail. I tried submitting a reimbursement claim but was told since there is no remedy for the issue that they couldn’t process my reimbursement. The failed part isn’t available for inspection because the shop did the work and I’m assuming disposed of the part. I had no idea at that time that I would or should save the part. It cost me a tow truck, a repair bill, a hotel room, a rental car, and my vacation as well as was super scary for that to happen going down the interstate. this is not a safety issue but not sure who to notify..The black paint on the front side window frames is peeling off real bad. Would this be a warranty issue? Thank you,

My vehicle has been in the shop over 6 times due to the malfunctioning of the EMERGENCY BREAKING SYSTEM. Less then 2.5wks after I purchased this vehicle, I started experiencing my E brake randomly engaging while driving it down the road. I called the dealership. They suggested I bring it to a jeep dealer. I’ve brought it to a jeep dealer where it’s been several times since I purchased the vehicle to have this issue looked at, but due to the fact of no codes popping when it gets brought in there’s nothing that they can do. I reported it also with the jeep company to which my case/complaint was closed out, even though the problem has not been fixed the most severe and most scary time that my emergency brake system came on was when I was driving at 65 miles an hour at 2:30 in the morning leaving work with a semi truck behind me and my emergency brakes randomly engaged on the freeway bringing me to a dead stop. They replaced the emergency breaking module and it still does it however, now my vehicle no matter what I do every time I put the vehicle even into park, my emergency brake kicks in. I’ve also looked up online and seeing that I’m not the only one that has experienced this that several other jeep owners have also experienced this typically found from the years of 2014 to 2020 Jeep Cherokee I own a 2020 Jeep Cherokee Limited my vehicle had 30,000 or so miles on it when I purchased this car this car has been a death trap ever since. I can’t even feel comfortable putting my children, my mother or even my animals into this car let alone myself. I do fear that one day this vehicle is going to kill me because that night with that semi behind me he could’ve easily rear-ended my vehicle and I’m sure he was doing 75 miles an hour and then a vehicle not even a half a mile in front of them randomly stops without any warning how that happened my children would not have a mother.

Was driving my vehicle and the service light came on that said (SVC 4X4) when I took the vehicle in the Fury Dealership to get a diagnostic check, I was told that my PTU system need to be replaced and it would cost $4500.00 to repair, upon doing some research it seems that Jeep Cherokee has had MANY problems with this particular parts failure. Upon going back and forth with the Service manager about the repair cost I was told they would do the repair, but I would have to pay about $1000.00 for the repair which is insane because this is something that Jeep should be required to fix due to the MANY complaints and repairs for this vehicle. I was told that the part was on back order and could take months to get, this was in February 2026 and its now April 22, 2026. I have not received any updates as to when the part will come in in the meantime I'm driving a vehicle that can potentially KILL ME.

The systems that failed included the shifter, which causes the car to lock so that it cannot shift out of park . This is most likely due to a shifter assembly and/or sensor malfunction. Several months prior to this event occurring (i.e., the car would not start, despite a new battery and consistent scheduled maintenance), this operator of the vehicle complained to the dealership that the car started to feel tremulous, along with the gas gauge reading 30-40 miles below the expected fill on a full tank. The dealership "checked the sensors" and determined nothing was wrong. The driver has been noticing shaking and continued problems with this vehicle shifting in and out of lower gears (1st through 3rd in an automatic V6 engine). The culmination is now this car will not start, and states both 'service shifter' and 'brake sensor service' lights illuminate upon attempting to start the engine. From reading, it is likely to have a transmission range sensor failure, a faulty shifter module, or wiring corrosion. Also, Stellantis (software manufacturer for these sensors) has admitted fault of these sensors in the past, and had extended warranties for some, but not all vehicles. Unable to operate a nonfunctioning vehicle now stuck with towing to a dealership I've not had good results with since the purchase of this vehicle.

They tried to order a new one, but they are on a worldwide backorder, so they had to order me a used one, for which I'm still waiting for. This same problem resulted in recalls up to 2019. My Jeep Cherokee is a 2020. I contacted Jeep and they won't do anything. Since this part is on a huge backorder, it tells me there us still a big problem. I believe 2020's should also have a recall, and Jeep should pay my bill.

Break pedal was hard and I could not turn it back on. Dash lights were on and tank had gas. Had to get it towed. Was told engine was in good shape. Still looking at starter issues.
