I purchased this 2026 Jayco Precept 34G Class A motorhome new in May 2026. During the first approximately 1,000 miles, it exhibited severe steering/handling instability requiring constant correction at highway speeds. As a first-time Class A owner, I initially thought this might be normal and continued operating it with family aboard. On XXX, a Ford commercial service center inspected the motorhome and documented missing steering-stabilizer hardware, specifically a missing nut, and a bent stabilizer shock. The service center photographed the defects. The stabilizer was later replaced and an alignment performed. The missing hardware and bent stabilizer created a serious potential loss-of-control/crash hazard. My family and I had traveled approximately 1,000 miles before the defects were discovered. The same Ford service center documented excessive looseness in the windshield-wiper linkage/transmission requiring repair or replacement. It stated the wiper system was installed by the RV builder and indicated the linkage appeared to have been left loose during assembly. After the steering repairs, I drove the motorhome more than an hour in heavy rain with the driver-side windshield wiper not functioning, severely impairing visibility. The RV dealer subsequently serviced the wiper assembly. The manufacturer was notified of the steering/chassis and wiper defects. Written Ford findings, photographs and repair records are available. [XXX] was specifically notified of these safety concerns and confirmed they were documented under the vehicle's VIN file. The steering defect was not based solely on my description of the handling; the missing nut and bent stabilizer were physically identified and documented by the Ford commercial service center. I am reporting serious vehicle-control and visibility hazards and am concerned similar defects may exist on other motorhomes of this or similar models.
