WE WERE TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND ON HIGHWAY IL45 IN SOUTHERN ILLINOIS WHEN OUR DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE ON OUR FIFTH WHEEL CAMPER BLEW OUT. IT CAUSED NOT ONLY A BLOWN TIRE, BUT ALSO CAUSED THE STABILIZER BARS TO BREAK. WHEN SPEAKING TO SEVERAL VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE 5TH WHEEL OWNERS AND TIRE SERVICE DEALERS, WE HAVE LEARNED THAT THE TIRES PUT ON OUR CAMPER HAD BARELY MET U.S. LOAD/WEIGHT STANDARDS. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE "POWER KING" BRAND (CHEAP, MADE IN CHINA), THAT WERE PUT ON OUR CAMPER. THE JAYCO EAGLE IS A VERY HEAVY CAMPER, THUS NEEDING HEAVY DUTY TIRES, NOT THE LIGHT-WEIGHT TIRES THAT WERE CAME WITH THE CAMPER. IF WE HAD BEEN GOING ANY FASTER, IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE, OR A HIGH-TRAFFIC AREA, A BLOWOUT COULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS! WE WOULD LIKE JAYCO TO DO RIGHT BY THEIR CUSTOMERS AND REPLACE THESE DEFECTIVE TIRES!
