The contact owns a 2022 Jayco Eagle. The contact stated that the weld seam was loose on the awning. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who informed the contact that the awning was properly attached. The RV was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but provided no additional assistance. The contact stated the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V571000 (Structure). The VIN was not available.
Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2022 Jayco Eagle fifth wheel trailers. The metallic electrical box may not be grounded.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An ungrounded metallic electrical box can cause electric shock, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will install a bare copper grounding conductor to the metallic electrical box, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 29, 2022. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco's number for this recall is 9901574.
