I am the original owner of this 2009 G37 sedan with only 12K miles. This car has never been in an accident. It is perfectly maintained and sits in a garage 99% of the time. Last week the airbag light flashed on. The dealer said the error code was B1018 (Occupant Classification Sensor malfunction). The cost of the passenger seat cushion alone is $7,500. This problem was also found on the 2007 & 2008 G37 models and part of a NHTSA recall (#08V521000). I found this problem all over the internet and this NHTSA site for this model year G37. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS PROBLEM. Why isn't this part of the 2007/2008 recall when the sensor is bad in both instances?

Car got a flashing airbag light after battery replacement. Reset multiple times just for light to come back. Took to Mears Nissan dealership for diagnosis. Diagnosed with bad occupant detection sensor. Dealership quoted me $4,500 for part without labor. Perfectly good car no longer has operating airbags, my personal safety is now at risk because the cost of repair is greater than the cars value, and the part is on back order for an extended unknown period of time. Vehicle is available for inspection. No other lights at time of incident.

In 2018 dash and passenger airbag light illuminated. Took it to dealer and was told that occupancy sensor in passenger seat needed to be replaced. In 2021 dash airbag light flashing and passenger airbag light off illuminated. Code determined occupancy sensor. Cost to repair basic car safety feature $7000.00 which is prohibitive.

I TURNED ON MY CAR IN MY DRIVEWAY ONE DAY AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON. IT TURNS OUT THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR HAS GONE BAD IN MY CAR. THE CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF AND HAS 50,000 MILES. THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON AND EXPENSIVE ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL. NOT TO MENTION THAT IF YOU'RE IN AN ACCIDENT AND HAVE A PASSENG…

WHEN HAVING MY WINDSHIELD REPLACED, THE SEAT CARRIAGE BECAME LOOSE FROM THE FRAME OF THE CAR. THIS HAS RENDERED THE SEAT IN A PRECARIOUS AND AWKWARD POSITION, ESPECIALLY IF THE SEAT WERE TO BREAK AWAY WHILE DRIVING AND AN ACCIDENT WERE TO OCCUR. THERE IS A LOT OF INFORMATION ONLINE REGARDING MULTIPLE INFINITI CARS WITH THE SEAT CARRIAGE UNHINGING FROM THE BASE OF VEHICLE. THIS RENDERS THE SEAT IN A STATIC OR LOOSE POSITION AND UNLESS REPAIRED BY INFINITI, THERE MAY BE SEVERE CONSEQUENCES. INFINITI WANTS TO CHARGE $2800 FOR THE PARTS AND LABOR WHICH IS EXTORTION! THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR FAULTS.

THE CAR HAS 48,300 MILES ON IT. THERE IS A CONSTANT FLASHING AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD WHEN THE CAR IS ON, WHETHER DRIVING OR JUST PARKED. IT FLASHES WHETHER SOMEONE IS SEATING IN THE SEAT OR NOT. THE LIGHT INDICATES AN ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAG/SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.
