Multiple times my vehicle has come to a complete stop unwarranted. There have been multiple instances of the automatic braking triggering on Michigan left hand turns with no traffic oncoming. This was reported to the dealer and they found no issue, however it has happened again since. The vehicle has also multiple times come to a full stop in heavy traffic when I was already braking and a full stop was unnecessary. There were two instances from this where I was very nearly rear ended, including on the expressway. There were no warnings that the system was malfunctioning.

While driving a 2025 Hyundai Tucson rental vehicle (VIN: [XXX] ), I experienced a sudden and unintended acceleration, and the steering appeared to turn without input. The vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree on a local street two blocks from my residence. The result was the wheel was popped off of it's axel and deflated immediately. Two days prior, I experienced a similar event in the same vehicle — sudden acceleration and braking hard making a loud braking noise. I suspect a mechanical or electronic malfunction. No warning or sensors were alerting me that this would happen. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While driving at speed in heavy traffic, I quickly merged from the right lane to the left lane to avoid an obstacle. My vehicle and the new vehicle in front of me (in the left lane) were traveling at approximately the same speed, although there was an admittedly small (one half car length) distance between us. My forward collision assist inaccurately identified this new vehicle in front of me as a sudden danger that I was going to hit. It immediately applied full braking power and played the forward collision alert sound. This aggressive and unexpected stop spilled and broke items in my car as they slid, roughly strained me against my seat belt, and caused the vehicle behind me to aggressively brake. A rear end collision was narrowly avoided, only due to the fast reaction of the driver behind me. This aggressive and dangerous forward assist and emergency braking can only be temporarily disabled for one drive, and resets every time the vehicle is turned on. I have not had my vehicle inspected for this issue, but communities on the internet have confirmed that this is a common problem.

Many 2025 Hyundai Tucson owners have reported significant issues with the driver attention warning feature, particularly when using cruise control and wearing sunglasses, leading to safety concerns and frustration. Common Complaints Constant Alerts: Many drivers have experienced the driver attention warning activating unnecessarily, especially while using cruise control. Users report that the system beeps and prompts them to keep their eyes on the road, even when they are attentive and looking straight ahead. This has led to frustration, with some considering disabling the feature entirely. 2 Sunglasses Interference: A recurring issue is that the driver attention warning system struggles to detect the driver's eyes when sunglasses are worn. This has caused the system to issue warnings and disable cruise control, which can be particularly dangerous in heavy traffic situations. Drivers have noted that even moderately tinted sunglasses can trigger these alerts, making it difficult to use the vehicle comfortably. 2 Safety Concerns: Some users have reported alarming incidents where the driver attention warning system caused abrupt braking, leading to near-collisions. For instance, one driver described a situation where the system suddenly applied the brakes while driving between vehicles, creating a hazardous situation. This has raised serious safety concerns among owners, particularly regarding the system's reliability and responsiveness. 1 Lack of Support from Hyundai: Many drivers have expressed dissatisfaction with Hyundai's response to these issues. Complaints about the driver attention warning feature have been met with minimal support, and some users feel that their concerns are not being adequately addressed by the manufacturer. 2 3 Sources Summary of Issues Overall, the driver attention warning feature in the 2025 Hyundai Tucson has been a source of frustration and concern for many owners. The combination of false alerts, interference from sunglasses.

The car breaks itself so abruptly when there is no real danger. This has almost caused for me to be rear ended on multiple occasions. Especially scary on the freeway. The forward collision warning is set to "late," and it still causes a huge jolt.

I have made several attempts with the dealer to fix this matter. The vehicle is new . It now has 13,696 miles on it now since purchase. I have a case with HYUNDAI of America . I left my vehicle with the dealer for a month of this time and I got my vehicle back , it had grey seats instead of black. My tires were different as there are rotated burn marks on the exterior of them . Something is wrong here . I am inheriting a problem that is not safe while driving . My understanding from reading about the forward collision light is deactivating while driving . How is this safe for the driver and occupants or others on the road .

The car in front of me also moved to the left and my car slammed on the brakes and came to a complete stop on the highway. I was badly rear-ended causing $12,500 in damage. This has happened 2 other times to me since then. This seems to be a consistent problem with the 2025 Hyundai Tucson. I'm fixing my car and selling it as I don't feel safe. The vehicle will continuously pop up the notification “Consider Taking A Break” while driving at highway speeds when using the adaptive cruise control. When this occurs it emits 6-7 audible beeps that distract the driver from the wrong and to look towards the instrument cluster. It was also turn down the infotainment system as well. This feature is unable to be turned off in the settings z it has continuously distracted my driving and made it more unsafe while driving at highway speeds. It makes the adaptive cruise control not worth using which is more harmful for a driver to continually have to accelerate and decelerate.

There is a camera mounted on the steering column that is "supposed" to be a safety feature to tell you when you are not paying attention to the road. It gives you a picture of a coffee cup and says "consider taking a break" along with repetitive beeping. Unfortunately, if you wear sunglasses (mine are prescription), a hat, are too short or too tall it can go off repeatedly. It is extremely distracting and causes you to take your eyes off the road to see what's going on. On a 350 mile trip that I make often, it has gone off for a solid hour every 4 minutes! It averages about 30-40 times in that 5 1/2 hour trip. It also mutes anything that is playing through the infotainment system including directions. I have asked the dealer who says there is nothing they can do and it is a known problem. Hyundai says it is functioning as designed. I have also filed a report with Hyundai. A safety feature that causes distractions is not a safety feature! Also, the emergency braking has almost caused me to get rear ended on a number of occasions. I have been in the process of slowing down or braking when the emergency system kicks in and almost throws me through the windshield. Cars following at a reasonable distance have to slam on their brakes to avoid hitting me. Isn't this feature supposed to help you avoid accidents, not cause them
