It's termed as a "Dead Pedal" with the accelerator pedal sensor as to when the accelerator pedal is applied to move the car, the signal to apply gas to the engine to move it , doe's not happen, and the car will not move, momentarily causing a very unsafe situation in traffic. this problem is sporadic and you never know when it will happen. to my knowledge this is happening in the 2009 to 2015 models Hyundai Genesis cars with the 3.8 and 4.6 and 5.0 engines. Any car with the drive by wire is effected with this problem, and should be looked into and repaired. I have not gone to the dealer with this problem and there is no check engine light on when it happens.

CAR ENGINE SHUTS OFF/STOPS RUNNING, WITHOUT WARNING, WHILE DRIVING. HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS. AT SLOWER SPEED, IN TOWN, COMING TO A STOP OR SLOWING FOR A TURN. CAR STARTS BACK UP RIGHT AWAY, AND WON'T STOP AGAIN FOR A LONG TIME. ALSO CAN'T MAKE IT STOP ON PURPOSE.

HEADLIGHTS FLASH OFF OR STAY OFF WHEN USING THE TURN SIGNALS. AT NIGHT WHEN CHANGING LANES OR TURNING CORNERS THE HEADLIGHTS SOMETIMES GO OFF FOR A MOMENT WHEN ENGAGING THE LEFT OR RIGHT TURN SIGNAL LEVER. ALSO THE HEADLIGHTS SOMETIMES TURN OFF AND STAY OFF WHEN COMPLETING A TURN WHEN THE TURN SIGNAL AUTOMATICALLY TURNS OFF. ONE NEEDS TO JOG THE TURN SIGNAL LEVER TO GET THE HEADLIGHTS BACK ON. THIS CAN BE RECREATED WHEN PARKED SIMPLY BY OPERATING THE TURN SIGNALS. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WHETHER MOVING OR PARKED. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE INDEPENDENT OF WEATHER, SPEED OR ROAD CONDITIONS. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS AND EXAMPLES OF THIS CONDITION ON YOU TUBE.
