THIS MODEL HAS TWO DISC BRAKES ON A NARROW FRONT WHEEL. THIS UNUSUAL CONFIGURATION RESULTS IN EXCESSIVE BRAKING POWER ON THE NARROW FRONT WHEEL AND CAUSES THE NARROW FRONT WHEEL TO LOCK UP TOO EASILY DURING MODERATE APPLICATION OF THE BRAKE, CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, THE FRONT SUSPENSION "DIVES" EXCESSIVELY DURING MODERATE APPLICATION OF THE FRONT BRAKE, WHICH CONTRIBUTES TO VEHICLE LOSS OF CONTROL. ADDITIONALLY, THE REAR BRAKE PEDAL IS BARE METAL (ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT) WITHOUT A PAD, AND ALSO IS VERY SMALL MAKING IT HARD TO FIND WHEN NEEDED. THESE CONDITIONS HAVE RESULTED IN A LOSS OF CONTROL DURING A STOP SITUATION AND HAVE RESULTED IN AN UPSET AND SERIOUS INJURY TO THE RIDER. *AK

FRICTION PAD SEPARATES FROM THE BACKING PLATE AND SUBSEQUENTLY FROM THE FRONT OR REAR BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: SEPARATION OF THE FRICTION PAD MAY CAUSE A REDUCTION INSTOPPING ABILITY, WHICH MAY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.

Remedy: REPLACE FRICTION PADS.
